The 3 POs include 586 women who had 293 ha of rice growing lowland. Training of coaches and technical service staff on EMMP / PERSUAP and anti-erosive techniques On April 5th 2017, the project held a training session in Sevaré for coaches and technical services at the Mopti Academy of Education agents focused on EMMP/PERSUAP and anti-erosive techniques. This training is related to the implementation of the of the FtF Mali CVC project’s Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation Plan (EMMP). At the end of the training coaches and technical service partners learned: (i) new EMMP and anti-erosive techniques for the 2017/2018 agricultural campaign; (ii) best management practices of pesticides, in accordance with the provisions of the PERSUAP. Each participant received a copy of the PERSUAP. The training involved a total of 44 participants including 9 women, consisting of 14 CVC coaches, 3 CVC specialists and 27 DRA and ORM staff. Monitoring of 10 demonstration plots in off-season in Alatona as part of the FtF CVC project and AGRICHEM partnership From March 29 to April 01, 2017 a monitoring mission was conducted in Diabaly and Dogofry of 10 demonstration plots managed by 10 leading producers. The following observations were noted: - 3 plots were abandoned for lack of irrigation water1 in rice fields of Dogofry in Office du Niger - 6 plots, representing a total of 3.5 ha, had been transplanted and were in the tillering and elongation stage. These plots received an application of AGRICHEM products (humistar before transplanting, Delfan, and Coda Zn-L). The transplanting was done “in-line” with one plant per pocket. - 1 plot was still in the nursery stage due to lack of irrigation water. Organization of guided visit to DTE (Datong Transport Enterprise)-Sikasso and SOCAFON in Niono A study tour was organized at the DTE-Sikasso company with millet producers, as well as with the SOCAFON company in Niono, with rice producers. This trip is representative of CVC’s development strategy of promoting public-private partnerships with private sector firms for the dissemination of production and post-harvest technologies.
