  • Lakota East Class of 2020
LAKOTA EAST CLASS OF 2020 ATHLETIC COMMITMENT PROGRAM Senior Student Athletes, Who would have thought of the set of circumstances that we currently find ourselves in as we fight Covid-19? The impact of these events are historical in nature and will be discussed for generations to come. With these events come a torrent of emotions and it is difficult for me to fathom the complexity of your emotions as we navigate uncertain times. To each of you, please know that you will forever hold a place in Lakota East Athletic History. Our run of successes are grounded in the hard work and dedication that each of you have shown, please do not lose sight of this. To the winter sport Student Athletes that did not get to complete their seasons. Rest assured that you have made your mark. New standards of excellence have been forged based on the work that you have done as individuals and collectively as teams. I am proud of each of you and not playing another game or competing in another match will not change that! To the spring sport Student Athletes, I must acknowledge the fact that you will not be able to take the field, court or track in the last season of your senior year. I feel for you, I acknowledge the heartbreak and disappointment of our current situation. If I could, I would visit each of you (from six feet away) and simply talk to you about this road. I want each of you to know that you are valued and loved, please know that this will not change based on a single season.
