    Crossroads League Timeline April 10, 1959 – An organizational meeting was held in Huntington, IN, attended by representatives from Huntington College, Concordia College, Tri-State University, and Indiana Tech. Richard Klopfenstein was elected to serve as Chairman, while Murray Mendenhall Jr. was chosen as Secretary. Motions were carried to include Basketball, Baseball, Golf, and Tennis as sanctioned sports. Further motions established All-Sports Points systems and regulations for competition. At this time several possible conference names were presented including: North Central Indiana Conference and Mid-Indiana Conference, but no final decision was made at this time. o Richard Klopfenstein spearheads move to create a broad based athletic conference for colleges throughout Indiana sharing faith based heritage and athletic competition. Klopfenstein would serve as the MCC’s first President beginning in 1959 and remain active both in the MCC and at Huntington University where he would serve as Athletic Director and coach. Klopfenstein is widely regarded as the “founding father” of the MCC. May 14, 1959 The name Mid-Central College Conference is chosen by a 5-4 vote over Northern Indiana College Conference. June 1, 1959 The Mid-Central College Conference Constitution is officially ratified. 1959-60 Huntington College wins the first MCC All-Sports Trophy. Tennis, Basketball, Golf and Baseball complete the first year of championship play. September 17, 1963 Membership in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics NAIA is granted. 1964-65 Badminton, Bowling, Volleyball, Table Tennis, are all hosted as single day tournaments for MCC institutions. 1965-66 Track & Field officially added as MCC sport. 1966 Saint Francis College joins the MCC as the 5th member institution 1967 Soccer officially added as MCC sport.

NCAA PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP MANUAL 1 GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES Section 1 • Introduction During the 2019-20 academic year, the Association will sponsor 90 national championships – 42 for men, 45 for women, and three for both men and women. Of the men’s championships, three are National Collegiate Championships, 13 are Division I championships, 12 are Division II championships and 14 are Division III championships. Of the women’s championships, six are National Collegiate Championships, 12 are Division I championships, 13 are Division II championships and 14 are Division III championships. The combined men’s and women’s championships are National Collegiate Championships. The Pre-Championship Manual will serve as a resource for institutions to prepare for the championship.

    DustyRHODES Head Coach (20th Season) X 13 Conference Championships • 5 World Series Appearances • 16 Postseason Appearances ow entering his 20th season at the helm of the Ospreys, Nhead coach Dusty Rhodes has guided the program from NAIA, to NCAA Division II, and most recently to NCAA Division I - all the while building UNF into a nationally recognized baseball powerhouse. Rhodes has compiled an 802- 332 record through 19 seasons, guiding UNF to 16 postseason appearances, including five World Series appearances, four district championships while in NAIA and six conference championships in NCAA Division II. In 2004, he topped the 1,000- win career mark, and now holds an all-time record of 1,106-449. He was named Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005 and South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2000, 2001 and 2005. A year ago, Rhodes led the UNF program into an arena that many believed the Ospreys should have been competing in for years - NCAA Division I. The River States Conference (hereafter, the Conference) is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Conference is a tax-exempt corporation under Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c) (3). Article II – Purpose The purpose of this Conference is to support and promote the educational and athletic activities of its member institutions in an equal manner; while advancing the highest ethical standards of character, conduct, sportsmanship and fair play. Article III – Values The Conference recognizes the value of athletic competition in developing character and life skills and promotes the following NAIA five core values on the field of play, on our campuses, and in our communities: 1.
