INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF NORWAY Oslo Chamber of Commerce WEEKEND SUGGESTIONS Week 17

HI EVERYBODY! 1st May is the International Worker´s Day, a celebration of the international labour movement. This day is a national holiday in more than 80 countries around the world, including Norway, and is celebrated unofficially in many others. In Oslo, the day will be marked by the traditional march and rally organised by Landsorganisasjonen i Norge (The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions) with speeches by the main political party leaders. The event starts at Youngstorget at 11:25 with speeches followed by the march starting from Youngstorget at 12:45. Many Norwegians do choose to spend the day at home with the family or getting the garden ready for spring.

Here are our suggestions for this weekend. Enjoy!

A unique voice on the contemporary art scene, she uses costumes, props, voice and movement to create suggestive and hypnotic pockets of time – secret, highly charged spaces and mesmerising utopias. Wrånes’ all-encompassing projects draw us into a magical, dreamlike world where anything is possible. She twists and reshapes traditions into spellbinding experiences – a concert in a ski lift, a ballet of construction cranes, an opera on bicycles.
