We give detailed synonymies and published records for all taxonomic hierarchies, as well as hosts, type localities and repositories of type material; we highlight significant references and include comments on the current taxonomic status of the species. We provide a summary of present knowledge of the biology and ecology for eight species. Also, we give a host-louse list, and a bibliography to the family as complete as possible. They provide an unparalleled opportunity for studying marine biogeography because they include the globally distributed families Tripterygiidae (triplefin blennies) and Blenniidae (combtooth blennies), the temperate Clinidae (kelp blennies), and three largely Neotropical families (Labrisomidae, Chaenopsidae, and Dactyloscopidae). However, interpretation of these distributional patterns has been hindered by largely unresolved inter-familial relationships and the lack of evidence of monophyly of the Labrisomidae. Results: We explored the phylogenetic relationships of the Blenniiformes based on one mitochondrial (COI) and four nuclear (TMO-4C4, RAG1, Rhodopsin, and Histone H3) loci for 150 blenniiform species, and representative outgroups (Gobiesocidae, Opistognathidae and Grammatidae). According to the consensus of Bayesian Inference, Maximum Likelihood, and Maximum Parsimony analyses, the monophyly of the Blenniiformes and the Tripterygiidae, Blenniidae, Clinidae, and Dactyloscopidae is supported. -

Key words: Acanthocephala, new species, checklist, bibliography The Phylum Acanthocephala is a relatively small group of endoparasitic helminths (helminths = worm-like animals that are parasites; not a monophyletic group). Adults use vertebrates as definitive hosts (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals), eggs are passed in the feces and infect arthropods (insects and crustacean) as intermediate hosts, where the cystacanth develops, and the cystacanth infects the definitive host when it is ingested. In some cases, fishes, reptiles, and amphibians that eat arthropods serve as paratenic (transport) hosts to bridge ecological barriers to adults of a species that typically does not feed on arthropods. -

Former studies on this ectoparasite mainly required fixation, immobilization, or death of host species and especially examinations of adult male sea lions are still very rare. Between March and May 2018, adult individuals of a unique Burban^ bachelor group of South American sea lions (Otaria flavescens)living directly in the city of Valdivia, Chile, were studied regarding their ectoparasite infestation status. For first time, a non-invasive method in the form of a lice comb screwed on a telescopic rod and grounded with adhesive tape was used for sample taking process. Overall, during combing different stages of A. microchir were detected in 4/5 O. flavescens individuals, especially at the junction between the back and hind flippers. Our findings represent the first report of A. microchir infesting individuals of this synanthropic colony and fulfilling complete life cycle in a sea lion group despite inhabiting freshwater and in absence of females/ pups. Our Btelescopic lice comb apparatus^ offers a new strategy to collect different stages of ectoparasites and a range of epidermal material, such as fur coat hair and superficial skin tissue for a broad spectrum of research fields in wildlife sciences in an unmolested and stress reduced manner. -

ABSTRACT: Daughter sporocysts and cystophorous cercariae were found in the gastropod Cylichna alba (Heterobranchia: Cephalaspidea) from the White Sea. By evidence from the rDNA sequences (partial 28S and 5.8S+ITS2) they match sexual adults identified as Hemiurus levinseni (Digenea: Hemiuroidea: Hemiuridae). We propose an outline of H. levinseni life cycle, describe morphology of its sporocysts and cercariae, and compare the latter with cercariae of other hemiuroideans. Twenty-four previously known, 2 new, and 4 unidentified species in 17 gen- era and 12 families are recorded. Three dubious literature records are also mentioned. All 30 con- firmed species, except Sanguinicolidae gen. sp. (Aporocotylidae), are described and figured. Life cy- cles are discussed where known. Philopinna kawamutsu sp. nov. (Didymozoidae) was found in the connective tissue between the vertebrae and the air bladder near the esophagus of Nipponocypris tem- minckii (Temminck and Schlegel) (Cyprinidae). Genarchopsis yaritanago sp. nov. (Derogenidae) was found in the intestine of Tanakia lanceolata (Temminck and Schlegel) (Cyprinidae). Asymphylodora innominata (Faust, 1924) comb. nov. is proposed for A. macrostoma Ozaki, 1925 (Lissorchiidae). A key to the families, genera, and species of these digeneans is provided.
