Food first Advice for adults with a small appetite Why have I received this handout? You may have a poor appetite or have been eating less due to feeling unwell. If you are not getting enough nutrition to meet your body’s needs you will lose weight and could be at risk of malnutrition. Malnutrition makes it more difficult for the body to fight illness and infection. It can make us feel weak, tired and low in mood. To treat malnutrition we need to increase the energy or calories, protein and overall nutrients that we eat and drink. This handout provides advice on increasing your intake using ordinary foods and by making simple changes to your meals, snacks and drinks. Although some of the foods and drinks in this leaflet may usually be considered unhealthy, they are recommended until your appetite and weight improve. These foods are energy-dense and can help to reduce your risk of malnutrition. If you have diabetes, it is preferable to fortify your food with protein and fats rather adding extra sugar or including more sugary foods. This will help to minimise the impact on your blood glucose levels. If you normally check your blood glucose levels and further to making these dietary changes find that they are higher than your target range, please contact your GP or diabetes nurse for advice regarding your diabetes management. Please read our food first diabetes leaflet for more information. Helpful tips 1 Try eating little and often. 2 Aim for 3 small meals and 2 to 3 snacks between meals. -

The country’s technology-heavy industries and tech-savvy culture have led Swedish PR agencies to quickly adopt online tools in campaigns for clients. And that has, in turn, enabled Swedish PR practitioners to move ahead of their European competitors in online sophistication. Uccle, le 04/06/2021 Chers parents et élèves, Nous vous écrivons après une semaine difficile en raison de l'augmentation du nombre de cas et de l'augmentation significative du nombre d'élèves placés en quarantaine. Au cours de ces dernières semaines, il est essentiel que chacun continue à appliquer toutes les règles à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de l'école. Nous lançons un nouvel appel à l'ensemble de la communauté pour qu'elle prenne ses responsabilités afin que notre communauté scolaire reste exempte de cas positifs et de mise en quarantaine avant les vacances d'été. Nos élèves de S7 ont terminé leur première semaine de Baccalauréat et jusqu'à présent cela se passe très bien. Il ne leur reste qu'une semaine et ils ont besoin de votre soutien pour s'assurer qu'ils ne seront pas touchés par le virus pendant cette semaine. Veuillez donc les soutenir en veillant à respecter toutes les règles en vigueur. Nous vous rappelons les règles de base contre le coronavirus : 1. Lavez-vous régulièrement les mains 2. The Cornish Pasty Recipe Similar Recipes Have Been Used Over the Years by Descend- Ants of Immigrants from Cornwall England
The Cornish Pasty Exact origins of the pasty are unclear; it is com- monly accepted as a staple of Cornwall England. The pasty became popular in Cornwall during the 17th and 18th centuries where tin miners and other mine work- ers adopted it due to its unique shape, forming a com- plete meal that can be carried easily and eaten without cutlery. Side-crimped pasties gave rise to the suggestion that miners would eat the pasty holding the thick rolled crust edge, ensuring dirty fingers (possibly in- cluding traces of arsenic and lead) did not touch food or mouth. Other theories suggest miners ate the pasty from end to end. The earliest Cornish recipe books claim "the true Cornish way" to eat a pasty is from end to end, so any uneaten portion could be saved for later. Any excess pastry from a miner's pasty might sometimes have been left for the knockers, capricious spirits in the mines who might otherwise lead miners into danger. There is also a humorous belief that the pastry on a good pasty should be strong enough to withstand a drop down a mine shaft. The pasty's dense, folded pastry could stay warm for 8 to 10 hours. Miners always carried their pasty to work in a two-part lunch pail. The bottom portion con- tained piping hot tea, the top portion their pasty along with a piece of heavy cake, a couple current cookies, or a saffron bun.
