De lokale bonderøve kan nemlig godt lide at køre ræs på vejen ved siden af deres hus, og hvad værre er ligger der en yderst skummel kirkegård for kæledyr i baghaven. På kirkegården lurer onde magiske kræfter, der kan bringe folk tilbage fra de døde. Familien bliver fristet, da den yngste søn dør. Det viser sig dog hurtigt, at lige præcis den fristelse, skulle de have afvist. Efter succesen med “It“ er Stephen King atter kommet i høj kurs.
