(formerly known as GV Broadcasting System), also known as the legal trading name Mediascape Inc., is a Philippine media and telecommunications firm in the Philippines. The company, wholly owned by a subsidiary of media conglomerate Media'quest Holdings as part of the PLDT Beneficial Trust Fund, manages its pay-TV services (Cignal and SatLite), subscription television networks (One News, One Sports, One Screen, Colours, Sari-Sari Channel, NBA TV Philippines and PBA Rush), as well as television and film production( Cignal TV also operates free TV channels TV5 (with its main frequencies owned by its sister company of the same name), One Sports (with the main frequency owned by sister network Nation Broadcasting Corporation) and one PH (currently in test air via DWET-TV digital sub-channel 5.3). Also, under the name Mediascape, he runs UHF 51 through DTT in Manila and most regional television stations affiliated with the TV5 network, and owns provincial radio stations affiliated with Apollo Broadcasting Investors/GV Radios Network Corporation. On August 3, 2015, TV5 Network, through its sister company Cignal, contacted Viva Communications to form the Sari-Sari Channel entertainment network, which will broadcast programs and films from both Viva's portfolio and TV5. SSN will also produce all TV5 entertainment programs. Instead, in October 2015, the network appointed Viva CEO Honcho Vica del Rosario Jr. as its chief entertainment strategist. In 2016, Cignal partnered with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to launch PBA Rush, a 24-hour PBA content channel as well as live games. In 2017, Cignal launched its new venture outside of DTH with the launch of its own entertainment division, Cignal Entertainment. In 2018, Cignal TV officially launched One News, an English-language news channel that contains content from the news divisions of The Philippine Star and BusinessWorld. In 2019, Cignal launched two new channels under the One brand, namely One Sports, the sports channel that replaces Hyper; and One PH, an all-Philippine language news channel with a mix of content from Radyo5 and its own production programming. In November 2019, Cignal TV entered into a five-year partnership with APT Entertainment for BuKo Channel (Buhay Komedya), the first fully local comedy channel to be launched in the second quarter of 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. It was launched on May 28, 2018. One sports main article: One Sports (TV channel) One Sports is a sports-entertainment cable/satellite TV channel. It was launched on January 9, 2019. This analogue of One Sports Channel has been renamed One Sports since the terrestrial channel One Sports was launched on March 8, 2020, replacing 5 Plus. One Screen Home Article: One Screen (TV channel) One screen is an entertaining cable/satellite TV channel. It was launched on June 15, 2020. It airs movies from local productions and foreign content from CinemaWorld, as well as reruns from TV5 and third-party productions. Modeled on NBA TV, and it is broadcast live from PBA games (English-language commentary), same-day reruns of PBA games, games from PBA D-League, PBA Women's 3x3 and Batang PBA, Sports 360 and behind-the-scenes shows such as Kuwentong Gilas. The channel is a Filipino league counterpart dedicated to the channel in the United States NBA TV and it broadcasts live broadcast of NBA games. Free Channels One Sports Main Article: One Sports (TV channel) One Sports is a free television sports channel with Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) as the main content provider, and was launched on March 8, 2020. One sport serves as a sports channel for the TV5 network with its programs primarily produced by its sports division of the same name. It was previously called 5 Plus when it was launched on January 13, 2019 and AksyonTV, a Filipino-language news channel launched by TV5 in 2011-2019. One ph Home article: One PH One PH is a 24-hour Filipino language news/speak channel. The channel mainly broadcasts simultaneous releases of Radyo5 programs. This channel replaced the AksyonTV TV and radio segment when it was renamed 5 Plus on January 13, 2019. One PH began its official broadcast on February 18, 2019. Radio Home article: Apollo Broadcast Investors Apollo Broadcast Investors manages a radio asset that was isolated from GV/Mediascape, which its pay-TV Congressional franchise was used to operate by Cignal and SatLite. GV 99.1, the flagship FM station Mediascape, based in Pampanga, is also heard across the country via Cignal Channel 306. Although it is owned by the same company (MediaQuest Holdings), Apollo Broadcast Investors is not affiliated with its sister company Nation Broadcasting Corporation, which also operates television and radio stations that are associated with the TV5 network.
