September 2019 2 Russia Peking Hotel is put up for auction An owner put the hotel up for sale in September with an asking price of RUB 5,7 bn (U$ 87,6 m), but there were no bidders for it. However, Peking Hotel has no financial debts. There were several Chinese companies as potential bidders, but Chinese authorities backed them out of the deal. The restoration of the Peking hotel is scheduled to be finished in November 2019. The total area is 26, 000 sq. meters, total rooms – 150 units. The hotel amenities include 3 restaurants, conference halls and a business center. SunFlower Park Hotel may change its owner The SunFlower Park Hotel’s owner, Katerina Park LLC, was applied to be forced into bankruptcy by Umaco Finance International Ltd. The hotel is located near Prazhskaya metro station. Earlier it was a part of Umaco group, but since 2015 the hotel has been owned by M2M Private Bank, that went bankrupt in 2017. Now M2M Private Bank’s insolvency estate includes the hotel’s assets. SunFlower Park Hotel is being managed by Airhotel Company LLC since 2016. Now legal proceedings have no impact on the hotel’s operational activity; the average annual hotel’s occupancy is about 87%. MR Group invests in Bvlgari Hotel & Residences Moscow Development Company MR Group invests in Bvlgari Hotel Moscow that will be located at Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street. MR Group and Wainbridge Company LLC became business partners. The first one owns Phili City and Savelovsky City, also it develops luxury residential real estate. Bvlgari Hotel Moscow will stand as the world’s seventh Bvlgari Hotel. The hotel for 65 rooms, 3 townhouses, 11 private residences offers a lavish restaurant, bar and spacious roof terrace, as well as the extraordinary Spa, with its 25-metre lap pool. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2021. Shakhter Hotel in Moscow was sold The hotel located near Bratislavskaya metro station was taken for RUB 400 m (U$ 6,1 m) considering that the starting offer price comprised RUB 162 m (U$ 2,5 m). The possible reason is that administrative building and some lands were put on sale together with the Shakhter Hotel building. A new owner is Argo Company LLC. Park Inn by Radisson Sheremetyevo Airport hotel’s renovation is finished Renovation of the hotel is finished and now there are new and stylish rooms and public areas made in unique design. As a result of renovation 129 rooms were reconstructed. Also, a new restaurant, Red 2, was opened. It was named after the legendary pub Krasny. Park Inn by Radisson Sheremetyevo Airport was early known as Sheremetyevo-2, the object went under Park in by Radisson brand in 2009. Marriott Krasnodar opened in September The project had been developing since 2009. Marriott Krasnodar is located in downtown on Krasnaya street steps away from the commercial district and key local attractions. It offers 262 rooms and 69 apartments. The hotel amenities include 2 restaurants, 7 conference halls, Spa and a congress hall. Marriott Krasnodar was scheduled to open in 2018 but there were some difficulties during the process of development. Hospitality newsletter. September 2019 3 Glampings are expected to be developing in Russia Glampings development agreement had been signed during the Eastern Economic Forum. Glamping is a type of camping that is more comfortable and luxurious than traditional camping. Thus, an attractiveness of the Russian regions is expected to be highly increased. Moreover, glampings development does not require large-scale investments. However, there are some administrative and legal difficulties connected with the new form of tourism. Now there are 50 glampings in Russia. Rossiya Hotel in Nizhny Novgorod will be turned into apartment building An owner of Rossiya Hotel, Service-Hotel Company LLC, has won a court case with the Regional Department of Cultural Heritage State Protection. Historic building of Rossiya Hotel had been built in 1936 but it hasn’t been operating since 2008. Now Service-Hotel Company LLC will be able to replace it by an apartment building. The owner is going to restore a building totally. The restoration is scheduled to finish within 3 years. A new hotel may open in Kamchatka A hotel for 177 keys located in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is being built since 2016. Project investments were increased during the project development to RUB 5,5 bn (U$ 84,5 m). Additional funding was provided by VTB Bank and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. The project is developed by Novyi Dom Company. The hotel amenities include a fitness- center and some entertainment venues. It is scheduled to be opened in 2021. A hotel in Kaliningrad is supposed to change its owner A hotel that was supposed to be opened under the Domina brand had been built since 2014. The project developer is Magistral Company LLC. The hotel was scheduled to open in 2016, but there were some financial difficulties during the project development. Now owners are going to sell the building. New hotels may open in Mamison Mamison is a large resort situated in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. The complex is located on the land plot with total area of 22 Ha. It is planned to build a number of hotels of different categories here. The resort amenities also include ski slopes and some entertainment venues. A new hotel with a casino to be opened in Altay A new complex will be located in a special economic zone named Biryuzovaya Katun. The total area of the complex is 10,000 sq. meters. There will be a hotel by an international brand for 150 rooms and a casino for 10 game tables and 300 slot machines. Construction will start in 2020, so the complex is scheduled to open in 2024. Arka Hotel by Ginza Project to be opened in Rostov-on-Don Arka hotel by Ginza Project is a new boutique hotel for 70 rooms. The hotel will offer 2 restaurants and a conference hall. The total area of the complex is 4,700 sq. meters. Project investments are estimated at RUB 1 bn+ (U$ 15,4 m). KM-Soyuz Company LLC is a partner of a project. Hospitality newsletter. September 2019 4 New hotel project in Dagestan A new aparthotel for 350 keys on the shore of the Caspian Sea is scheduled to open in 2021. The hotel amenities will include 4 restaurants, a conference hall, a concert hall and a sports center. 200 rooms are expected to be sold as apartments. The starting offer price of an apartment comprises RUB 1,2 m (U$ 18,400). Georgia Ramada By Wyndham will open in Kutaisi Wyndham Hotels & Resorts plans to open Ramada by Wyndham Kutaisi hotel in Q4 2020. It will become the first hotel under Ramada by Wyndham brand opened in this part of Georgia. Ramada by Wyndham Kutaisi will offer its guests 124 rooms, located right in the city center on Grishashvili street, near the White bridge over Rioni river and other important landmarks and tourist attractions. Tadzhikistan A new hotel under Hilton brand opened in Dushanbe Hilton Dushanbe for 145 rooms opened in the capital of Tadzhikistan. The hotel’s amenities include six conference-halls and two large ball rooms of the total area of 4,090 sq. meter, a spa complex with indoor swimming pool and a fitness center, restaurants and bars. Uzbekistan Wyndham Garden’s debut in Uzbekistan Wyndham Hotels & Resorts expands its presence in Central Asia. The first hotel under the Wyndham Garden brand will open its doors in Tashkent at the end of 2020. An upscale hotel will be located on Babur Street, near the Tashkent International Airport. The hotel with 108 rooms will offer guests a spa area with two pools, several spacious conference rooms and a restaurant on the 9th floor with a panoramic view of Tashkent. Hospitality newsletter. September 2019 5 Hotel operators’ and companies’ news Azimut Hotels manages two hotels on the Golden Ring of Russia Azimut Hotels holding increased its portfolio by two hotels on the Golden ring of Russia (Zolotoe Koltso). The first one is located in Uglich and offers 47 rooms, a restaurant, a gym with a swimming pool and a conference hall with the total capacity of 60 people. The hotel is situated in downtown on Krasnaya street steps away from the Uglich Kremlin. The second hotel is located in the Rostov Veliky downtown and offers 51 rooms. Its amenities include banquet hall with the total capacity of 150 people. AMAKS manages a hotel in the Russian Far East AMAKS Hotels & Resorts holding increased its portfolio by Tourist Hotel located in Khabarovsk. The hotel for 195 keys is situated steps away from the downtown. Its amenities include a restaurant, Spa and a number of conference halls. The hotel is supposed to be renovated in accordance with the international AMAKS standards. Becar hotel to be opened in Dubai Dubai City Tower will stand as the first Becar’s foreign hotel. The aparthotel with the total area of 17,000+ sq. meters is scheduled to open in 2021. The development project includes three towers for 236 apartments. Also, a lavish restaurant and a gym with a swimming pool are supposed to be built. The positioning of the hotel would attract business travelers as well as tourists.

Baubeginn des Gebäudekomplexes, der neben dem AZIMUT-Hotel noch weitere Apartments, Büros sowie ein Parkhaus beherbergen soll, ist für das zweite Quartal 2020 geplant. „Wir freuen uns sehr über die Partnerschaft mit der IFA Projektgesellschaft und können es kaum erwarten, unser neues Haus in Raunheim in etwa zweieinhalb Jahren zu eröffnen“, sagt Walter C. Neumann, Managing Director bei AZIMUT Hotels Europe. Er führt weiter aus: „Der Standort ist für uns durch seine Nähe zum Frankfurter Flughafen besonders wichtig, zumal der Airport ausgebaut und um ein neues Terminal erweitert wird.“ Außerdem würden sich durch den Brexit auch neue Unternehmen in der Nachbarschaft ansiedeln, was den Bedarf an zusätzlichen Unterkünften sicherlich erhöhe.
