Corinthia will open in Moscow IHI plc, owners of the Corinthia Group, announces a luxury Corinthia Hotel & Residences project in Moscow. IHI is acquiring a minority share in a company being formed with a consortium of investors (Viktor Rashnikov, stakeholder of PAO Magnitogorskiy Metallurgical Complex and its partner Nader Nader) to acquire a landmark property at 10, Tverskaya Street. The consortium has plans to create a luxury Corinthia Hotel and branded serviced apartments for sale with the total area of 43,000 sq. meters by 2022. Business center in Moscow will be redeveloped in a hotel Becar Asset Management will redevelop a business center located at Malye Kamenschiki Street, 16, near Taganskaya metro station in a midscale loft hotel. The hotel will offer 82 rooms, around 14.5 sq. m each. The end of reconstruction is planned for 2Q 2020. Sales of rooms to private investors started in October 2018. The first Strawberry Duck hostel opened in Moscow The first hostel of a new chain Strawberry duck opened in Moscow at 8/12 bld. 2, Potapovsky Lane in February 2019. Hostel with 36 rooms can accommodate up to 250 guests. There are standard double rooms with and without bathrooms, family rooms with beds and sofas, and large-capacity rooms. Prices vary from RUB 700 (U$ 10) per bed per day up to RUB 3,000 (U$ 45) for a double room. There is a fully-equipped kitchen for hostel guests. A new hotel complex in Domodedovo, Moscow region Center of business tourism is planned to be constructed in Domodedovo. A hotel complex under international quality standards for 450 rooms and a congress-hall will be developed during the first stage. The hotel complex will be connected with the airport by an underground walkway. The total area of the first stage will comprise around 39,000 sq. m. Investments in the first stage will amount to RUB 5.8 bn (U$ 88 m.). The second stage of the project shall include an expo center, offices, retail and a park. Russian-Chinese culture center opened in St. Petersburg Russian-Chinese culture center opened at Tallinskaya Street, St. Petersburg. The center consists of a 4-star Nihao hotel for 96 guest rooms and public space located on the ground floor. The hotel amenities also include a Chinese restaurant and several conference-halls. The second stage of the project including apart-hotel for 190 rooms and an underground parking is now being developed near the center. Alliance Hotel Management will manage a hotel in Belgorod Alliance Hotel Management signed a management agreement with hotel complex Aurora in Belgorod. The hotel complex Aurora (called Tsentralnaya Hotel till 2007) is located in the historic center of Belgorod at Preobrazhenskaya Street, 86. The hotel offers 115 rooms, a restaurant and a lobby-bar, a fitness-center, 2 conference rooms. The hotel was fully renovated in 2014. A hotel under international brand may open in Kursk Povolzhie Concession Company LLC is currently negotiating with one of international hotel operators a possibility to manage a hotel in Kursk at Lenina Street, 2. On site of Tsentralnaya hotel may open a 4-star hotel. Construction of Hyatt Regency in Roston-on-Don is resumed Agrokom Group holding plans to resume construction of international congress-center with Hyatt Regency Rostov- Don-Plaza hotel in April 2019. Construction was put on hold in the beginning of 2018 due to a new design project development. International congress center Hyatt Regency Rostov-Don Plaza includes a hotel for 188 rooms, 37 apartments, a trade center, office areas and parking lots. The end of construction is planned for 2020.

A new hotel may appear in Yaroslavl AO R-Pharm company, a resident of existing pharmaceutical cluster, will develop a 5-star hotel in Yaroslavl. The hotel will be located at Volzhskaya embankment, within UNESCO world heritage zone. Total investments in the project will amount to RUB 1.2 bn (U$ 18 m.). The start of construction is planned for 2019, commencement – for the end of 2021. A new hotel under AZIMUT management will open in Astrakhan AZIMUT Hotels signed a management agreement to manage a new hotel which will open on 15 March 2019. AZIMUT Hotel Volga Astrakhan is located in 56 kilometers from Astrakhan, at Makovo village, Volodarsky district. Hotel complex offers 38 rooms with areas from 25 sq. m up to 50 sq. m. On the hotel’s territory which comprises 12 Ha there is a restaurant, in-door swimming-pool (20 meters), a gym and bath complex, a conference-hall. AccorHotels will open an apart-hotel in International hotel operator AccorHotels and Le Rond Group of companies presented a unique apartment hotel project – Adagio Le Rond Sochi. The hotel will be located in 15 minutes’ drive from the center of Sochi at Leningradskaya Street, 7a, on-site of Olympiysky Dagomys hotel complex. The project assumes 457 apartments with fully-equipped kitchens, a balcony or a terrace. Part of the complex apartments will be sold out to private investors with possibility to earn rental income depending on the category of owned apartment. The complex amenities include an outdoor pool, restaurants and café, own beach, Medical SPA complex with aqua-thermal zone, a gym and a wellness center, children center, conference halls. The project investment may amount to RU 2.3 bn (U$ 35 m.). The complex opening is planned for 2020. Courtyard by Marriott opened in Sochi, Krasnaya Polyana Courtyard by Marriott Sochi Krasnaya Polyana opened in the building of the former Gorki Plaza 3 * hotel in the Gorky Gorod resort on 26 February 2019. Courtyard by Marriott Sochi Krasnaya Polyana offers more than two hundred modern rooms, including suites with a spacious terrace and views of the mountains, European and Caucasian restaurants, an equipped gym and saunas, conference rooms and special events. The hotel will be managed by international hotel operator Interstate Hotels & Resorts. Kazakhstan AccorHotels opened its first Novotel in Almaty International hotel operator AccorHotels opened Novotel Almaty City Center in Almaty. The new hotel is located at Dostyk Avenue, 104A, in close proximity to Respublika Palace, a cable-railway connecting Almaty city center with Kok-Tobe mountain and in 30 minutes’ drive from the airport, a famous highland rink Medeu and ski-resort Shymbulak. The hotel offers 190 rooms, a restaurant for 100 places and a lobby-bar, 9 conference-halls up to 150 people, and wellness-center In Balance with indoor pool. Armenia Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will open a hotel in Yerevan International hotel operator Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will open Ramada Hotel & Suites Yerevan in May 2019. The hotel is located in the city center of Yerevan, close to Republic Square, at Pavstots Byuzand 15. Ramada Hotel & Suites Yerevan consists of two blocks: a hotel block with cosy rooms and a block with comfortable suites for long stays. The hotel offers 202 rooms, 4 equipped conference-halls (up to 200 people), SPA and fitness center, a restaurant and a lobby-bar, and a Red Point Terrace on the 13th floor (indoor and outdoor zones).

Hotel operators’ news IHG acquired Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas chain International hotel operator InterContinental Hotels Group announced about acquiring the brands and operating companies of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas chain. Six Senses brand operates in luxury wellness and spa segment, currently manages 16 hotels and resorts, with 18 management contracts signed in its pipeline, and more than 50 further deals under active discussion. It operates properties in the Maldives, the Seychelles, Thailand, Oman, and Portugal’s Douro Valley among others. Six Senses brand will contribute to IHG luxury brands collection which now consists of InterContinental, Regent and Kimpton. Hilton launches new brand – Signia Hilton International hotel operator Hilton announced the launch of Signia Hilton, a new meetings-and-events-focused brand. First hotels under a new brand will open in the USA. One of existing properties – Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is under reconstruction now and will open in 18 months in Florida. Two new hotels will also open in Atlanta and Indianapolis in 2021. Cronwell and Mouzenidis Group presented a new brand Mouzenidis Group holding and the hotel chain Cronwell Hotels & Resorts will launch in 2019 a chain of hotels under the co-brand Bomo Collection By Cronwell. Bomo Collection by Cronwell is a marketing upscale brand which will include three 5-star resort hotels – Cronwell Platamon Resort, Cronwell Resort Sermilia, and Rahoni Cronwell Park Hotel Adults Only (the only hotel in Khalkidhiki for adults only). Partners plan to pay special attention to theme programs in hotels inder new Bomo brand, as well as opened new properties beyond Greece. Atelika management company launches new brand Divny Mir A new brand Divny Mir from Atelika management company will unite independent country and resort hotels. The idea and attractiveness of the new brand consists in possibility to keep authenticity and independence of hotels allowing them to get advantages of chain affiliation such as sales increase, loyalty programs participation, usage of chain marketing resources, trainings for hotel staff, chain standards, expenses optimizations. Atelika management company works in the hotel market from 2008. Best Western Hotels & Resorts acquired WorldHotels brand Best Western Hotels & Resorts announced it has acquired renowned global hotel brand WorldHotels representing a collection of approximately 300 unique and special hotels and resorts in premier destinations around the world. The WorldHotels brand will play an important role in enhancing Best Western’s portfolio of offerings to include the upper upscale and luxury segments. Transaction amount is not disclosed.
