Gelendkhik- 7, 353470 Russia For the latest 30-40 years the Black Sea pollution by various pollutants is observed. It is the result of economical activity intensification on the shore and of slow growth of cleaning system capacity. • In the coastal zone concentration of pollutants depends on the pollutant amount brought from the source and the process of their distribution and transport to the open sea. Within the Krasnodar region towns of Novorossiisk, Gelendzhik, Tuapse, Sochi and the ports of Novorossiisk and Tuapse are the main sources of pollutants. On the basis of many years of research we may state that near the Krasnodar region coast there is a general longitudinal current directed from the south-east to the north-west, i.e. from Sochi towards Anapa. Velocity of this current sometimes reaches 1 m/s. This general stream is rather pronounced one during autumn-winter-spring period. In this period its mean monthly velocity is from 10 to 35 days. In summer months it is feebly marked. In different years mean monthly velocity was from 4 to 25 days. Due to a weak water circulation in summer there occur stagnant effects in the coastal zone provoked by the accumulation of pollutants in water. Sizeable areas of polluted water are formed near the sources of pollutants. Not far from the outlets of badly purified sewage waters clouds of muddy water with sharp boundaries are formed. -

Argus Nefte Transport Oil transportation logistics in the former Soviet Union Volume XVI, 5, May 2017 Primorsk loads first 100,000t diesel cargo Russia’s main outlet for 10ppm diesel exports, the Baltic port of Primorsk, shipped a 100,000t cargo for the first time this month. The diesel was loaded on 4 May on the 113,300t Dong-A Thetis, owned by the South Korean shipping company Dong-A Tanker. The 100,000t cargo of Rosneft product was sold to trading company Vitol for delivery to the Amsterdam-Rotter- dam-Antwerp region, a market participant says. The Dong-A Thetis was loaded at Russian pipeline crude exports berth 3 or 4 — which can handle crude and diesel following a recent upgrade, and mn b/d can accommodate 90,000-150,000t vessels with 15.5m draught. 6.0 Transit crude Russian crude It remains unclear whether larger loadings at Primorsk will become a regular 5.0 occurrence. “Smaller 50,000-60,000t cargoes are more popular and the terminal 4.0 does not always have the opportunity to stockpile larger quantities of diesel for 3.0 export,” a source familiar with operations at the outlet says. ABSTRACT At the present stage of development of the Russian Federation, there has come a deep awareness of the importance of agro-industrial production in ensuring food security of the regions. The created legal framework forms the prerequisites and conditions for increasing agricultural production, technical and technological re-equipment of agriculture, and modernization of the processing industry. At the same time, an acute problem remains the social degradation of a significant part of the rural population and rural areas. There is an increase in the outflow of the able-bodied population and youth from the village. In this study, content analysis approaches were used: query statistics on the topic under investigation, indirect references, the presence of archival and active records, the number of participants in the thematic groups. Based on the information obtained, a forecast was made of the number of ecosettlements and population size based on linear trends. Establishing efficient and cost-effective transportation is a key element of establishing sustainable linkages along food supply chains between farmers, storage and transport companies, and consumers. In this regard, infrastructural constraints to sustainability in agricultural production exacerbate transportation costs and risks, and thus result in lower performance of agricultural producers. As fuel consumption is, first, the most significant cost in agricultural logistics and, second, particularly sensitive to disruptions of transport, loading, and storage infrastructure, management of fuel costs is crucial to assure profit margin of an agricultural enterprise. By transforming the standard economic order quantity (EOQ) model, the authors attempt to build an approach to the optimization of fuel costs. The analysis made in the cases of twelve large crop farms in three territories of Southern Russia allowed the consideration of: (1) fragmentation in storage infrastructure; (2) variations in fuel consumption depending on the vehicle load ratio; (3) the use of their own fleet of vehicles against the outsourcing of transport operations. -
A Brief History of Kabarda
A Brief History of Kabarda [from the Seventh Century AD] Amjad Jaimoukha T he Russians have been writing Kabardian (and Circassian) history according to their colonial prescriptions for more than a century, ever since they occupied Circassia in the middle years of the 19th century. Simplistic and oftentimes ridiculous accounts of this history were produced in the course of this time. Until this day, these historiographies, with added clauses to reduce the level of inanity and circumvent the rampant contradictions, constitute the official historical narrative in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (and with slight variations in the other ‘Circassian’ republics, namely the Karachai-Cherkess Republic and the Republic of Adigea). For one, the Kabardians were deemed to have opted to join Russia in the 16th century (much more on this ‘Union’ in the course of this article). In 1957, big celebrations were held in Kabarda commemorating the 400th anniversary of the ‘joyful’ event that saved the Kabardians from perdition. A statue was erected as a symbol of the fictitious union of Kabarda with Russia in downtown Nalchik.
