[email protected]) June 30, 2020 Keywords Catch, fishing effort, CPUE, abundance, commercial fisheries, handline, longline, U.S. GOM Greater Amberjack Abstract Standardized catch rate indices of relative abundance (Catch-per-Unit Effort; CPUE) were developed independently for the commercial handline (vertical line) and commercial longline fisheries in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GOM) for the SEDAR70 Operational Greater Amberjack stock assessment. Each index was developed using a delta-lognormal generalized linear model for the years 1990 to 2018 using data from the Coastal Fisheries Logbook Program. All analyses followed the same methodology used for the SEDAR33 and SEDAR33 Update stock assessments.
