ICRC aid to people affected by typhoon Bopha (Pablo) Facts and figures as of 30 April 2013 RELIEF AND EARLY RECOVERY AGUSAN DEL NORTE SURIGAO • Distributed emergency food and relief items to more than 312,000 people DEL SUR since December, in the three provinces hardest hit by the typhoon • Distributed aid to 77 of the worst-affected barangays (villages) in Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley since January, benefiting 273,000 people WATER • Ran/running 11 cash-for-work projects in Compostela Valley, benefiting 2,600 people • Provided drinking water to 18,000 people in 14 communities in Davao Oriental between December and April HEALTH • Repaired/repairing 11water supply systems in Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley, providing water to 27,000 people • Provided free medical care to 7,000 patients at the Basic Health • Upgraded water and sanitation systems in a Philippine Red Cross evacuation Care Unit in Baganga, Davao Oriental between January and March camp in New Bataan, Compostela Valley, serving just under 3,000 people • Repaired or repairing eight health facilities in Davao Oriental, Bislig benefiting nearly 120,000 people AGUSAN ! • Supported the sending of three mobile clinics of the Compostela DEL SUR Valley Provincial Health Office to remote communities Lingig Boston Laak Monkayo Cateel DAVAO Montevista Compostela DEL NORTE Baganga Nabunturan Baganga New Bataan DAVAO COMPOSTELA ORIENTAL VALLEY Legend Davao Water SHELTER Relief and early recovery Health • Distributed 53,148 tarpaulins and 4,500 shelter kits during the initial emergency phase of the disaster • Provided additional emergency shelter materials to 3,600 people displaced by flooding in January in Davao Oriental Shelter • Provided carpentry kits to 250 residents of an extremely remote community in Cateel, Davao Oriental, to help the community rebuild damaged housing Sub-delegation • Launched a project to help over 3,000 families in the worst-affected communities in Davao Oriental and Compostela Provincial boundary Valley to build new homes after their houses were destroyed Office !
