Tackling Exposure to Changing Hazards and Disaster Impacts Enhancing Adaptive Capacity Addressing Poverty, Vulnerabil- ity and their Causes In 2008, the Province of Albay in the Philippines was declared a "Global Local Government Unit (LGU) model for Climate Change Adapta- tion" by the UN-ISDR and the World Bank. The province has boldly initiated many innovative approaches to tackling disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) in Albay and continues to integrate CCA into its current DRM structure. Albay maintains its position as the first mover in terms of climate smart DRR by imple- menting good practices to ensure zero casualty during calamities, which is why the province is now being recognized throughout the world as a local govern- ment exemplar in Climate Change Adap- tation. It has pioneered in mainstreaming “Think Global Warming. ACTIONS TAKEN • In view of the general alarm declared by the BFP Butuan City the following emergency responders proceeded to the fire scene to conduct fire fighting operations: BFP Butuan City; Fire Stations in Ampayan, Buenavista, Cabadbaran, Kitcharao, and Nasipit all in Agusan del Norte; Butuan Search and Rescue Team (BUSART); volunteers of Boy Scout of the Philippines Butuan City Chapter; Butuan City Police Office (BCPO); Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO); SWAT Team; Red Cross; and CHO Disaster team.

This report presents the population by province, city or municipality and barangay based on the 2010 CPH. This information will be useful for the formulation of the social and economic development policies, plans and programs of the Government. These are also important for purposes of the calculation of Internal Revenue Allocation, determination of number of congressional districts, and creation or conversion of various administrative geographic units. The 2010 CPH is the 13th census of population and the 6th census of housing that was conducted in the country since the first census undertaken in 1903. It was designed to take an inventory of the total population and housing units in the country and collect information about their characteristics as of the reference period May 1, 2010.
