EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS  10th Standard (SSLC): Govt High School, Muthugapatti, Namakkal District, 1985.  12th Standard (HSc): Govt Hr. Sec. School, Sendamangalam, Namakkal District, 1987.  Graduated (B.E.) in Mining Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Anna University, Chennai in 1991.  Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Opencast Mining from the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad in 2004 with distinction (Gold medalist). PhD in Mining Engineering with special reference to ‘Blast Design Parameters on Rock Fragmentation and Ground Vibrations in Opencast Mines’ from Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad in 2019. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS  Holder of First Class Mines Managers Certificate of Competency (Metal – Restricted) from Directorate General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad.  Holder of Recognized Qualified Person (RQP) certified by Indian Bureau of Mines for preparing the Mine Plans legally.  Worked as ‘Co-opted Member’ in State Environmental Appraisal Committee (SEAC), MoEF & CC, Govt of from Sep. 2016 to August 2018. EXPERIENCE  Immediately after graduation, worked at various capacities in Limited, Malanjkhand, Madhya Pradesh for seven years.  Thereafter, joined Tamilnadu Industrial Explosives Limited (TEL) as Area Sales Manager and worked for nearly four years before moving to pursue the higher studies at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.  Worked as Project Manager (Head of the Unit) in a large opencast coal mine of a MNC located in Indonesia for a period of six months.  In 2006, he joined the premier iron ore mining company - M/s. Dempo & Co (P) Limited, Goa as Mines Manager and worked nearly for two years to develop a new open iron ore pit in an environmentally fragile area successfully.  Since December 2007, he is associated with the Department of Mining Engineering, Anna University, Chennai and presently working as Assistant Professor.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATIONS  Rock Blasting Engineering – Blast Designing and Control of Environmental Impacts due to blasting and Underwater Drilling & Blasting Technology  Environment and Ecology  Surface Mine Planning and Mine Economics  Mine Legislation and Safety in Surface Mines  Deep Sea Mining Technology MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS FOR MINING & CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY  Developed the Guidelines and Procedures for computation of penalties to be imposed on the violated mining projects in the State Environmental Appraisal Committee (SEAC) enable the mine management to commence the operations acceptable to the society.  Introduced the ‘Big data analytic application in drilling operations and developed a Technique for increasing the Drill bit life in the hard granite and quartzite rock formations in Hindustan Copper Limited, Malanjkhand.  Developed effective blast design techniques for controlling the Backbreak, eliminating ‘Toe’ formation and reducing the ‘secondary blasting’ in hard & massive granitic rock formations in Hindustan Copper Limited, Malanjkhand.  Increased the Annual Sales Volume from Rs. 4.0 Crore to Rs. 9.5 Crore in the Organised Sectors for Tamilnadu Industrial Explosives Limited, Vellore.  Introduced the new slurry explosive products for medium & hard strata and low gram detonating fuse (5 gm) for granite mines successfully from Tamilnadu Industrial Explosives Limited, Vellore.  Completion of annual target for iron ore production from the mine on record time (3 months ahead of schedule) in M/s. V.S. Dempo & Co (I) Ltd, Goa.  Designed and implemented a suitable ‘Underwater Drilling and Blasting’ technology for the Underwater Excavation Projects at Port for Offshore Container Terminal, Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) Channel, Mumbai and Ship Lift Supporting Berth in Jaigad Port (Maharashtra).  Designed and implemented the blasting techniques to control the environmental problems such as ground vibration, noise and flyrock for various mining and construction projects located in Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh ad Gujarat.
