At 54 sampling sites a total of 4912 individuals representing 33 species were collected by electrofishing. The studied tributaries were human-impacted, mostly by hydroconstructions, channel regulation, and pollution. Fish assemblages were dominated by roach and perch. Increase in the populations of salmonids (sea trout) in the Ina River system and in some tributaries resulted from intensive stocking rather than natural regeneration. In the course of an additional, but only qualitative, investigation that was carried out in certain of the 54 sites in 2012, one new native and three new alien species were identified in the Ina River system as compared with the 2006–2007 sampling. The native species was mud loach Misgurnus fossilis (determined in the main course of the Ina), and the three alien species were brown bullhead Ameiurus nebulosus, topmouth gudgeon Pseudorasbora parva and round goby Neogobius melanostomus. Fourteen more fish species were captured in the 2006–2007 and 2012 sampling periods than in a quantitative sampling carried out in the Ina River system in 1984.
