College Highlights 2010-2011

At the beginning of the 2010-2011 academic year, the decision was made to replace the four faculties at Salford with three colleges. In August 2011 the School of Humanities, Languages & Social Sciences was created.

College of Arts & Social Sciences

Salford Law School This year was the first year the School had been evaluated by students in the National Students’ Survey, and the results were fantastic. It was ranked in the top 10 in the country for Law and was placed behind only Manchester and Lancaster Universities in the North West in the Guardian’s League Table.

In June 2010, the School ran its ‘Sixth Form Law Conference’, where students from local schools and colleges come to hear about life as a lawyer and as a law student. This was the fifth time the conference has been run at Salford; and since 2006 over 1,000 students from over 30 institutions have attended the event.
