Notes Note for customers using the Japan Rail Pass This note provides important information for customers traveling in the Hokuriku or Shin’etsu regions (Ishikawa Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Niigata Prefecture, and Nagano Prefecture). The area within which your pass is valid for travel will change when the Hokuriku Shinkansen (between Nagano and Kanazawa) begins service on March 14, 2015.
