WGA tournaments captured the greens this summer

September will be a busy month for Big Canoe Wom- en’s Golf Association 9-Hole and 18-Hole players. This year’s Charity Event will benefit the Big Canoe Well- ness Collaborative and will accept donations the week of August 31. Learning Ladies and 9-Hole players will compete in a 9-Hole Scramble on September 15. Both groups will hold their Club Championships this month – 9-Hole players on Nine-Hole Ringer winners were Lynn Cates, Susan Rolader and September 21 and 18-Hole golfers September 22/23. Six flights, each flight composed of four teams of two players, com- peted over the two days with each team playing the other three teams and one 9-Hole competition against par. Flight winners then participated in a shoot-out until the team of Claudia Floyd and Di Theis topped the field. The annual Queen of the Mountain event held with Bent Tree has been canceled for this year.

You learn to love those odds because that’s just the way it is; the more you shoot the better you get. It’s a sport and an art at the same time. The best part is it’s really fun!
