Transit Police Officers have jurisdiction and arrest powers throughout the 1,500 square miles in the Transit Zone that includes the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Transit police officers investigate that occur on, to or against Transit Authority facilities and serve a population of 3.2 million. Our extensive police training is second to none and prepares our candidates for uncommon opportunities. Recruit officers complete 38 weeks of rigorous basic training, followed by 10 weeks of field training.
