PARISH NEWSLETTER 22Nd March 2020 PARISH NEWSLETTER 22nd March 2020 Wicklow & Rathnew, Barndarrig, Brittas Bay & Kilbride PANDEMIC If you thought of it as the Jews consider the Sabbath — the most sacred of times? Cease from travel. Cease from buying and selling. Give up, just for now, on trying to make the world different than it is. Sing. Pray. Touch only those to whom you commit your life. Centre down. And when your body has become still, reach out with your heart. Know that we are connected in ways that are terrifying and beautiful. Know that our lives are in one another’s hands. Do not reach out your hands. Reach out your heart. Reach out your words. Reach out all the tendrils of compassion that move, invisibly, where we cannot touch. Promise this world your love-- for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, so long as we all shall live. Lynn Ungar ONLINE MASSES During these very strange times, 10am Mass will be broadcast online, Monday to Friday, and also the Sunday Mass at 11.30am. We as a Church and a charity are in the same situation. We understand that there may be changes in peoples financial situations, but if at all possible we are asking people to continue to support our Priests and Parish. Due to the reduction of Masses, there is also a reduction of financial support for the Parish. Like some other Churches in the Dublin Diocese, we are introducing cashless donations with the addition of the GOOD BOX, which is situated near the Baptism Font on the altar. This is a very simple addition to our Parish and can be used as a TAP & GO. There is a €3 pre-set option on the box but this can be changed by swiping the screen. Alternatively, you can drop your weekly envelope into the parish office any week-day morning or into the letterbox beside the porch door of the office. As usual we really do appreciate all your support during these very challenging times. • Share Newsletter Gives You Some Information on the Share Collection and the Way It Is Utilised
SHARE - NEWSLETTER - November 25th 2018 Dear Friends I am very much aware of the many financial calls that have been made within the Catholic Church in recent times and I am genuinely grateful for the generous response that has come especially from Mass-going Catholics. Share, our diocesan development fund, is still an important funding lifeline for the many services that support the pastoral outreach of the diocese as well as support for poorer parishes. The coming years will be crucial for us in our efforts to sustain a lively Church and its varied witness to the message of Jesus Christ. Together with the Diocesan Finance Committee, it is my intention to ensure that limited funds are used in an optimal way and that our services are marked by a style of sobriety befitting the Church. The Share newsletter gives you some information on the Share Collection and the way it is utilised. I am sure that you will see how worthwhile and necessary the service is in supporting the Church right across the Archdiocese. With renewed thanks and prayers, THE SECOND COLLECTION, SHARE, IS A CONCRETE EXPRESSION OF COMMUNION BETWEEN THE PEOPLE AND THE PARISHES OF THE DUBLIN DIOCESE. YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT FOR SHARE IS VITAL TO THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH. • Your support helps provide immediate financial support for lower income parishes in difficulty. Church renovations and repairs, development of Parish Centres and assistance with maintenance costs are a priority for the SHARE Building Fund. • Your support for SHARE helps promote the Catholic Faith throughout the 199 parishes of the Archdiocese, giving a particular priority to the spiritual care and evangelisation of young people through the work of the Office for Evangelisation and Ecumenism.

The Primary Care Team is made up of GP’s, Psychologists, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. It is important to be linked with your Primary Care Team as they will organise an assessment of the person living with dementia. The aim of the Primary Care Team is to provide primary care services that are accessible, integrated, of a high quality and which meet the needs of the local population. There is a network of other services available to support the team including Podiatry, Area Medical Officers, Community Welfare, Dental, Ophthalmology and Mental Health. The Primary Care Team members work in partnership with the Department of Medicine for the Elderly and Psychiatry of Later Life in the acute hospitals. Your Public Health Nurse is a key contact in the local health centre. They can help you access services such as home help, day care and respite services.
