About the Author The Promised Sonra of the Promised Messiah and Mahdias; the manifest Sign of Allah, the Almighty; the Word of God whose advent was prophesied by the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa and the Promised Messiahas as well as the past Prophets; a Star in the spiritual firmament for the like of which the world has to wait for hundreds of years to appear; the man of God, crowned with a spiritual hallo from which radiated such scintillating rays of light as would instil spiritual life into his followers and captivate and enthral those who were not fortunate to follow him; an orator of such phenomenal quality that his speeches would make his audience stay put for hours on end, come rain or shine, deep into the late hours of the evenings while words flowed from his tongue like honey dripping into their ears to reach the depths of their soul to fill them with knowledge and invigorate their faith; the ocean of Divine and secular knowledge; the Voice Articulate of the age; without doubt the greatest genius of the 20th century; a man of phenomenal intelligence and memory; an epitome of the qualities of leadership; the one whose versatility cannot be comprehended—Hadrat Mirza Bashir- ud-Din Mahmud Ahmadra (1889-1965), Muslih-e-Ma‘ud (the viii HADRAT MIRZA BASHIR-UD-DIN MAHMUD AHMAD Promised Reformer) was the eldest son and the second Khalifah (successor) of the Promised Messiahas. He took charge of the Ahmadiyya Jama‘at at the young age of 24 when the Jama‘at was still in its infancy and nourished it to its maturity for more than 50 years with his spiritual guidance, prayers, tears, toil and blood. Not only did he fortify the foundations of the Community laid down by the Promised Messiahas, but expanded the structure of the Jama‘at by initiating various schemes, organizations, and programs taking his inspiration from the Promised Messiahas and under the Divine guidance. His foremost concern, to which he devoted all his life, was to accomplish the mission of the Promised Messiahas—the daunting task of spreading the message of

  • Which of the Two Sons of Prophet Abraham PBUH Was to Be Sacrificed?
Which of the two sons of the Prophet Abraham (Peace be upon him) was to be ‘sacrificed’? Prepared by: Abo Karim El Marakshy 1 The aim of this article is to answer the following misconceptions. 1-Which of the two sons of Prophet Abraham PBUH was to be sacrificed? 2-Hagar’s marriage to Abraham. 3-Ishmael’s relationship with Abraham peace be upon them. 4-The building of the Ka’abah. 5-Prophecies from the Bible about the prophet Muhammad (may Peace and Blessings be upon him). 6-The well of Zamzam. 7-Muslims pilgrimage. 8-Muslims’ claim of being affiliated to Prophet Abraham and various other Islamic articles of faith. PBUH: Peace be upon him 2 The following map shows the journeys of Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) Peace be upon him Round 1800 B.C. Historical background Allah, the Exalted, inspired Abraham (Ibrahim) to take his wife Hagar (Hajar in Arabic) and his son Ishmael ( Isma'il in Arabic ,Yishma'el ( ) in Hebrew meaning "God hears") peace be upon them to Makkah (Bakkah , Baca) in the Arabian Peninsula. Amazingly enough, this word Baca was mentioned by the prophet David (PBUH) in the Bible: "Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well, the rain also filleth the pools." (Psalm 84:6) Also the word Baca was mentioned in the Noble Qur'an "Verily, the first house (of worship) appointed for mankind was that in Baka (Mecca), full of blessing, 3 and guidance for all people." 3:96 of the Noble Qur'an. Abraham (Ibrahim) made a new settlement in Makkah, called Mountains of Paran (Pharan) in the Bible (Genesis 21:21), because of a divine instruction that was given to him as a part of Allah's plan.

Dr. M. Viji1 & S. I. A. Received: January 31, 2019 Accepted: March 12, 2019 ABSTRACT Education is considered as a most powerful medium for transferring the ideas, ethics and values for every religion. For this purpose it has developed its own education system. In Islam Madarash education system generally cater the need of education of their future citizens. Key Words: : Madrasa, Quranic Studies. I. Introduction Divine wisdom made it imperative on him that at every age an enlightened guide arrives to guide the destinies of the common man for his worldly and spiritual upliftment. It has also been made necessary that such a guide is an expert in his field. Islam has a broader meaning of education. It does not confine for reading of books but includes bringing up. The great educationists agree that education should not be confined to the four walls of school and Islam emphasised it 1500 years back. Jews ensure that all male children from the age of two years to ten receive only religious education. After ten, the brilliant scholars are sent to acquire common education to schools and colleges to choose a career. Let us take an appraisal of the set up of establishments and institutions where these religious specialists are prepared to serve the privileged cause assigned to them.

  • The Sociology of Islamic Culture
European Scientific Journal November 2014 /SPECIAL/ edition vol.1 ISSN: 1857 – 7881 (Print) e - ISSN 1857- 7431 THE SOCIOLOGY OF ISLAMIC CULTURE Dr. Muhammad Khan Malik, Assoc. Prof. Islamic Studies Department, University of Engineering and Technology (U.E.T).Lahore, Pakistan Abstract The Islamic Culture’s sociology engulfs all socio mores of human way of living. The criterion and nature of this society is to regulate the individual’s conduct both in person and with other human beings, basing on his Creator’s moral fiber for ultimate success. This edict of living is marvelous which distinguishes itself from manmade experiences and evolution in its application. This is divinely ordained, tangible and everlasting for all related situations. It standardizes all living obligations of human life like faith, rituals, education, matrimonial, legal, social, political, economics and behavioral ethics. It provides guidance for every obligation of life including all societal issues of peace and war times, national/international. The main sources of guidance are the ‘Quran and Sunnah’ with two supplementary sources: Ijmaa and Qiyas: (Drawing analogy from the essence of divine principles and preceding by the jurists/learned people for all religious and socio living). These rulings open the doors of cosmopolitan culture for peace and progress. This sociology provides solution for all new issues of life on earth with respect to other religion’s values. The example is “The truce of Madina by the Prophet of Islam (saw)” in 634 AD. The Islamic way is of tolerance and peace, it presents a moral, spiritual human civilization force which made and is making positive contribution for the development of human living.

Finding Islam the target of foul attacks from all directions, the fortunes of Muslims at a low ebb, faith yielding to doubt and religion only skin-deep, he undertook vindication and exposition of Islam. In his vast corpus of writings (including his epoch-making 'Brahin-e-Ahmadiyyah'), his lectures, discourses, religious debates etc., he argued that Islam was a living faith and the only faith by following which man could establish contact with his Creator and enter into communion with Him. The teachings contained in the Holy Quran and the Law promulgated by Islam were designed to raise man to moral, intellectual and spiritual perfection. He announced that God had appointed him the Messiah and Mahdi as mentioned in the prophecies of the Bible, the Holy Quran and Ahadith. In 1889 he began to accept initiation into his Community which is now established in one hundred and seventy-six countries.
