APO Connecting 2016 1 WELCOME

Welcome to the APO Connecting programme for 2016, our extensive range of events, activities and opportunities for Aucklanders of all ages. Our musical education, community engagement and outreach initiatives, under the umbrella of APO Connecting, are an important and valuable aspect of the work we do. We offer a myriad of opportunities for people to connect with the orchestra and it is wonderful to see the effect music can have throughout the Auckland community. Seeding a life-long love of music in our youngest members as they conduct-a-long at an APO 4 Kids concert, giving children in schools the chance to meet and work closely with our musicians to improve their musical understanding and abilities and nurturing the next generation of musicians through advanced teaching and support. Many of the activities we present through APO Connecting wouldn’t be possible without the support of our funders, sponsors and partners. These organisations and individuals continue to show commitment to this programme and our desire to share orchestral music with the community. We are grateful for their support and assistance in the work that we do. I encourage you to take a look through the brochure and find out more about the opportunities for you, your students or your family to connect with the APO and participate in some exciting musical activities. We look forward to seeing you in 2016.
