DAY 02 COPENHAGEN (Lunch / Dinner) Upon arrival at Copenhagen today, our sightseeing tour includes The Royal Palace, The marble Church and the Parliament Building. Next visit the world famous Little Mermaid of Copenhagen. She sits on the stone gazing wistfully and waiting for her prince. After lunch, it is free at your own leisure for shopping. In the evening, you may consider visit the famous Tivoli Gardens (Under own expense) DAY 03 COPENHAGEN / OSLO (Scandinavia Breakfast / Lunch / Buffet Dinner) This morning we shall visit Carlsberg Brewery, thereafter you will have free time to explore the town in the afternoon. After lunch, continue travel to Copenhagen Pier to board an overnight cruise to Oslo. Enjoy the sumptuous Scandinavian seafood buffet dinner served on board. DAY 04 OSLO / GOL (Scandinavia Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Upon arrival Oslo-capital of Norway we will start our sightseeing tour to Frogner (Vigelands) Park controversial Sculptures with a fantastic panoramic view over Oslo from the Holmenkollen Ski Jump area. After lunch, we will head to Gol for an overnight stay. DAY 05 GOL / GEILO / HARDANGER / BERGEN (Scandinavia B / Local Buffet L / D) After breakfast, we travel across the Hardanger Plateau to the western Norway, to see the most beautiful and classical Norwegian fjords. A journey of more natural wonders begins with a short ferry crossing from Brimnes to Bruavik to arrive at Bergen, Norway’s principal port and important city in the Viking sagas. Upon arrival Bergen, we will visit the timbered houses along its waterfront, the lively and bustling Old Fish Market and the 12th century Maria Church. Thereafter, we shall take the Fløibanen Funicular the most popular attractions in Norway for the spectacular views of Bergen. DAY 06 BERGEN / SOGNEFJORD / HEMSEDAL (Scandinavia Breakfast / Local L/ D) This morning enjoy your Scandinavian buffet breakfast. Continue our ascent spectacular drive along its Hairpin road with a magnificent view over the Naroy Gorge. Upon arrival start a fjord Cruise on the Longest and Deepest Fjord in the world, The Sognefjord, thereafter enjoy healthy local lunch in Flaam, continue for Hemsedal via the newly built tunnel and with outside visit of Borgund stave church - Norway’s oldest stave church from the 12th century. DAY 07 HEMSEDAL / LILLEHAMMER / OSLO (Scandinavia Breakfast / Local L / D) After breakfast, transfer to Oslo via Lillehammer. Upon arrival Lillehammer, start Orientation drive of the Olympic Town of Lillehammer. After lunch, continue our journey to Oslo. DAY 08 OSLO / KARLSTAD / STOCKHOLM (Scandinavia Breakfast / Lunch / D) After breakfast, transfer to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden via coach. Halfway, arrive at Karlstad, which is better known as the City of Sunshine. After lunch, proceed on a city tour to explore this city which is built on the islands and islets which make up the river delta on the northern shore of the largest lake in Sweden, Vanern. After exploring Karlstad, continue on the journey to Stockholm. DAY 09 STOCKHOLM / BALTIC CRUISE (Scandinavia Breakfast / L/ Buffet D) In the morning, we would proceed for a city tour, visiting the City Hall where the annual Nobel Prize presentation is held; the parliament house; outside visit of Royal Palace and also some great churches. In the afternoon transfer to the pier to board an overnight cruise ship to Helsinki. This luxurious 2000 passenger liner boast of an excellent shopping arcade including duty free shopping, swimming pool, sauna, casino and restaurants serving a wide variety of cuisine. After dinner, enjoy the live entertainment at the nightclub, the latest hits at the lively disco, break the bank at the casino or strike a jackpot. DAY 10 HELSINKI (Scandinavia Breakfast / L / Dinner) Upon arrival Helsinki - capital of Finland, start our half day sightseeing tour with local guide, with outside visit of Senate Square, Sibelius Monument, Temppeliaukio Church and Uspenski Cathedral. Free at leisure DAY 11 HELSINKI SINGAPORE (Scandinavia Breakfast / Meals on Board) Free at leisure till transfer to the airport for your departure flight back home to Singapore. Thereafter, we shall transfer to the train station for our train to the Russia ~ St. Petersburgs. DAY 11 ST.PETERSBURGS (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Visit the fabulous gardens and fountains of Peter the Great’s Summer Residence at Petrodvorets, reminiscent of a sparkling diamond of unique beauty. Now known as Peterhof, it was also known originally as the “Popov farmstead” and then from 1944 as Petrodvorets, which means “Peter’s Palace”. Be mesmerized by the Great Cascade, which cuts into the natural shores terrace, and acts as a pedestal for the Great Palace, which is the focal centre of the entire Peterhof complex. The palace, stretching for nearly 300 meters and blending with the natural environment, is a superb example of the harmony of earthly and heavenly features. The décor of all the rooms in the palace, executed by Rastrelli, corresponds to the complex ceremonies of court etiquette with a deliberately pompous theatrical replication of life in the palace. See the splendid Cathedral of Kazan before you proceed to tour the spectacular Hermitage, which is one of the world’s largest museums and was once the tsars’ winter presidential palace DAY 12 ST.PETERSBURGS / MOSCOW (Day train) (Breakfast / Lunch Box / Dinner) It time permits, you can do some last-minute shopping before you transfer to the train station to enjoy a scenic train ride from St Petersburg to Moscow. DAY 13 MOSCOW (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) After breakfast we shall embark on a sightseeing tour of the Red Square, and then visit St Basil’s Cathedral. Other sightseeing includes the Bolshoi Theatre and the Sparrow Hills, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. Thereafter, explore the ornate Moscow Metro, which Stalin called the “People’s Palaces”. After lunch we will visit the Kremlin, a city within a city adorned with medieval towers and cathedrals, palaces and a big bell tower. Visit the 3 famous Kremlin cathedrals: Cathedrals of Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel. Conclude your tour with a visit to the Church of the Virgin Gown’s Deposition, the Belfry of Ivan the Great and the Cathedral of the 12 Apostles. If time permits, check out the GUM department store. This evening, you must not miss the Moscow Circus performance in the evening DAY 14 MOSCOW SINGAPORE (Breakfast / Meals on Board) Free at leisure till transfer to the airport for your departure flight back home to Singapore. Henrik Möller aalto university abstract of the school of electrical engineering master’s thesis Author: Frida Vikström Title: Sound quality in Finnish Lutheran churches Date: 10.10.2016 Language: English Number of pages: 8+94 Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics Professorship: Acoustics and Audio Sound Processing Supervisor: Prof. Ville Pulkki Advisor: M.Sc. Henrik Möller Acoustical measurements were made in twenty churches in the Helsinki area, and their acoustical properties were compared to each other. The churches varied in size from small village churches to large cathedrals, were built between the 1470’s and 2005, and were built of stone, tile or wood. The churches were measured following the ISO 3382 standard. The results showed no clear distinctions between churches of different ages. The average reverberation time was longer than what is recommended for concert halls, with a small correlation to the volume of the church. The results of the modern churches were varying for all measured parameters, with no apparent correlation to the materials, sizes or ages of the churches. The average STI of 0.5 for all measured churches indicates that sound systems are needed in churches for the speech intelligibility to improve in the otherwise reverberant space.
