MATERIALS • 5400-555 Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Extra Soft Wool *Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Extra Soft Blend: Celery Wool Blend (Article #5400). 65% Acrylic, 35% Wool; package size: 3.50oz/100.00 gr. 3 Balls (165yds/150m) pull skeins • Lion Brand Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6) • Martha Stewart Crafts Lion Brand Yarn Knit & Weave Loom Kit • Additional Materials 5 buttons, approx. ½ inch (1.25 cm) in diameter GAUGE: 11 sts x 12 rows = 2 inches (5 cm) in stockinette stitch BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. STITCH EXPLANATION: Stitch Patterns Seed stitch: Row 1: *k1, p1; rep from * to last st, end on k1 Row 2: *p1, k1; rep from * to last st, end on p1 Seed stitch combo pattern: Row 1: k1, [p3, k2, p1, k1, p1, k2] 5 times, p3, k1 Row 2: k1, [p3, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1] 5 times, p3, k1 NOTES: First and last stitch (1 and 55) are selvage stitches. Always work them as knit stitches. Directions Martha Stewart knitting loom set with blue pegs at a 55-peg configuration was used in sample. Back CO 55 sts, prepare to work a flat panel. Rows 1-10: Seed stitch Row 11: Work 14 sts in pattern, k2tog, yo, work 13 sts in pattern, k2tog, yo, work 13 sts in pattern, k2tog, yo, work 14 sts in pattern Rows 12 and 16: Seed stitch Rows 17 and 18: Seed stitch combo pattern Rep 17 and 18 until item measures 20 inches (50 cm) from Row 6 BO, leaving a 30-inch (76-cm) tail (use for seaming the sides). Front CO 55 sts, prepare to work a flat panel. Rows 1-5: seed stitch Row 6 and 7: seed stitch combo pattern Rep rows 6 and 7 until item measures 18 inches from Row 6 Next row: Work 15 sts in pattern, BO 25 sts, work 15 sts in pattern *Next 12 rows (over the 15 sts where wrap yarn is located): work in established stitch pattern*; break yarn, leaving a 10-inch (25-cm) yarn tail. Join yarn to the opposite side; rep * to * Next 3 rows: seed stitch Next row: work 3 sts in established seed stitch, yo, k2tog, work 5 sts in established pattern, k2tog, yo, work 3 sts in established pattern Next 2 rows: Continue in seed stitch pattern BO Finishing Block all pieces. Mattress stitch seam Front piece to Back, leaving an opening approx. 5-6 inches (12.5-15 cm) for armholes. Seam the sides first and then seam the shoulder without the button flap. Securely sew two buttons opposite the Shoulder Flap (be sure to line up the buttonholes to the button). Sew 3 buttons to the bottom Front bottom piece of the sleep suit. Weave in all ends.
