To improve the lighting and prevent intermittent heading failures on the attitude indicator and horizontal situation indicators. DESCRIPTION

This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to remove the attitude indicator and horizontal situation indicators, return them to Cessna for upgrade to Mod G configuration, and reinstall them. COMPLIANCE

RECOMMENDED. This service bulletin should be performed during a scheduled maintenance period or phase inspection.

A service bulletin published by Cessna Company may be recorded as “completed” in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the “Effectivity” section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position and disconnect electrical power from the airplane by disconnecting the battery and external electrical power. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle stating: DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS. 2. Do an inspection of the mod level of the attitude indicator. A. (Refer to Figure 1, Detail B.) Remove the attitude indicator from the right instrument panel. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Attitude Indicator - Maintenance Practices.) (1) If Mod G is stamped on the serial identification tag of the attitude indicator, install the removed attitude indicator and go to Step 3. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Attitude Indicator - Maintenance Practices.)

(2) If Mod G is not stamped on the serial identification tag of the attitude indicator, send the attitude indicator to Cessna Aircraft Company, Citation Parts Distribution, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, for upgrade. NOTE: International Owner/Operators: The removed attitude indicator may be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Citation Parts Distribution, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, and exchanged for upgraded units. Due to the limited availability, please expedite the return of the removed part. NOTE: Domestic Owner/Operators: The removed attitude indicator is to be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Citation Parts Distribution, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, upgraded to the current modification level and returned to the owner/operator for installation. This option will require advance scheduling with Citation Parts Distribution, telephone number 1-800-835-4000 (Domestic) or 1-316-517-6618 (International) or telefax 1-316-517-7711 and an estimated turnaround time of approximately seven (7) to ten (10) days. (3) Go to Step 3. 3. Do an inspection of the horizontal situation indicators. A. (Refer to Figure 1, Detail A.) Remove the horizontal situation indicators from the center and right instrument panel. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: The horizontal situation indicators are located in the center and right instrument panels. The removal procedures for each horizontal situation indicator are typical. B. If Mod G is stamped on the serial identification tag of one or both of the horizontal situation indicator(s), install the applicable horizontal situation indicator(s). (1) Go to Step 5 if the attitude indicator was not returned for upgrade. (2) Go to Step 4 if the attitude indicator was removed for upgrade. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) - Maintenance Practices.) C. If Mod G is not stamped on the serial identification tag of one or both of the horizontal situation indicator(s), do the steps that follow. (1) Send the horizontal situation indicator(s) to Cessna Aircraft Company, Citation Parts Distribution, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, for upgrade. NOTE: International Owner/Operators: The removed horizontal situation indicator(s) may be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Citation Parts Distribution, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, and exchanged for upgraded units. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: The installation procedures for each horizontal situation indicator are typical. 4. (Refer to Figure 1, Detail B.) Install the upgraded S3100-304 (Vendor part number 2802-01-1 Mod G and On) Attitude Indicator in the right instrument panel. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Attitude Indicator - Maintenance Practices.)

5. Remove the maintenance warning tag and reconnect the battery. 6. Do an operational check of the attitude indicator and horizontal situation indicators. A. Make sure the dimming works correctly. (1) Set the Day/Night switch to ON. (2) Turn the applicable dimming knobs (LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER and STBY HSI) to the full clockwise position. (3) Make sure that the pilot’s instruments that follow are at full bright and constant in intensity. (a) The APP-85 Panel. (b) The MSP-85 Mode Selector Panel. (c) The DCP-3000 Display Control Panel. (d) The CHP-3000 Course/Heading Panel. (e) The PFD and MFD bezels. (4) Make sure that the copilot’s instruments that follow are at full bright and uniform in intensity. (a) The copilot’s horizontal indicator. (b) The attitude indicator. (c) The . (d) The instantaneous vertical speed indicator. (e) The standby horizontal indicator and encoding or the optional copilot’s PFD. (f) The MSP-85 Mode Selector Panel. (g) The DCP-3000 Display Control Panel. (h) The CKP-3000 Course Control Panel (if installed). B. Make sure that the switches that follow are in the correct position. (1) Make sure that the AHRS REV switch is in the NORM position. (2) Make sure that the MAN/AUTO switch is in the AUTO position. (3) Set the STANDBY GYRO switch to the ON position. (4) Make sure that the AHRS 1, AHRS 2, AHRS 1 STBY PWR and AHRS 2 STBY PWR circuit breakers are engaged. (5) Set the switch to the ON position. (a) The AHRS 1 attitude heading will go valid in approximately 35 seconds. (b) The AHRS 2 attitude heading will go valid in approximately 40 seconds. 7. Make sure that the Flight Crew Operations Summary included with this service bulletin is given to the crew to inform them of the operational changes resulting from incorporation of this service bulletin. 8. Make an entry in the airplane logbook stating this service bulletin has been accomplished. Fill out and forward a Maintenance Transaction Report indicating compliance to: CESCOM, P.O.
