AGORÀ è un format online dedicato all’approfondimento dei settori creativi dell’industria audiovisiva, attraverso Masterclass e Incontri One to One.

It has expanded to almost every continent, except for Africa, South America, and Antarctica. The coronavirus can be spread through touch or even if you breathe the same air as a coronavirus victim. There are more than 43,100 cases today around the world. The death toll has hit over 1,100, and continues to rise, while China has decided to restart their economy. More people on cruise ships are tested positive for the virus. These people are stranded on the cruise ships, not allowed to leave their room. However, though the virus has been tested positive in Chicago, the virus has only harmed infants, elderly, or people with pre-existing health conditions. Therefore, scientists have concluded that the virus must only damage people with weak immune systems. September 19, 2019 COLCOA French Film Festival Monday, September 23 – Saturday, September 28 DGA in Hollywood $$ This film festival showcases the latest work from France. It only looks like it the Coca Cola Film Festival if you read it too fast. September 3, 2019 Critic's Picks: A September To-Do List for Film Buffs in L.A Alain Delon in 'Purple Moon' (1960) A classic lesbian drama, French noirs starring Alain Delon and Jean Gabin and a series of matinees devoted to Katharine Hepburn are among the plentiful vintage and classic options for SoCal film buffs this month. OLIVIA AT THE LAEMMLE ROYAL | 11523 Santa Monica Blvd. Already underway and screening daily through Sept. 5 at the Laemmle Royal is a new digital restoration of Jacqueline Audry’s trailblazing 1951 feature Olivia, one of the first films, French or otherwise, to deal with female homosexuality. Set in a 19th-century Parisian finishing school for girls, the film depicts the struggle between two head mistresses (Edwige Feuillere and Simone Simon) for the affection of their students, and how one girl’s (Marie-Claire Olivia) romantic urges stir jealousy in the house. Audry, one of the key female filmmakers of post-World War II France, stages this feverish chamber drama (based on a novel by the English writer Dorothy Bussy) with a delicate yet incisive touch, allowing the story’s implicit sensuality to simmer ominously without boiling over into undue hysterics. Lesbian dramas would soon become more explicit, but few have matched Olivia’s unique combination of elegance and eroticism. • The Nassau Literary Review the NASSAU LITERARY REVIEW
The Nassau Literary Review The NASSAU LITERARY REVIEW WINTER 2021 “From the Crucible” Dear Readers, As our staff came together to finalize this issue, situated as it is in our current time of hardships, we were struck by what the issue has inevitably come to represent: a year of artmaking spent apart. It was not only a year of collective isolation, but also one of shared fury and grief at the lives that were lost through the pandemic, unconscionable acts of racism and violence, devastating wildfires, hurricanes so numerous we ran out of names to give them, and the selfish and ignorant acts of governments across the globe, particularly the U.S. government. In short, we have lived in, and our art has emerged from, a crucible. This is not to say that our art was somehow refined by these fires, or that suffering is requisite for the production of art, but simply to say that we have existed in these fires and that our art has been indelibly shaped by our experiences. The fingerprints of our recent history are pressed into every inch of the works we have produced this past semester, and such common threads and themes seemed to bring together the works we received into a tapestry—a greater whole. Many of the pieces rang with echoes of frustrated introspection and a yearning for human connection that carried through works of art such as the piece by Drew Pugliese which features a figure seemingly lost in thought while framed in a sea of twisted faces. This theme also appears in stories such as Cassandra James’ “Delgado at the Window,” in which the eponymous character finds himself trapped in a swirling eddy of his own thoughts, memories, and insecurities, staring out into the world without the confidence that he will be able to join it.
