Caution This icon is used for conditions that could cause injury to a person, or damage to the equipment or software data. ESD Possible damage from electrostatic discharge. This icon is used for conditions that could cause damage to the equipment. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a primary source of: • equipment failure • equipment repairs A person cannot detect an electrical charge of less than 3,500 V, but 30 V can cause damage to components in the equipment. Preventive Measures • Check for an ESD WARNING LABEL before doing any procedure with ESD-sensitive components. All sensitive components have graphic LABELS that frequently include instructions. Use all label instructions. • Wear a GROUNDING STRAP when you touch ESD-sensitive components. Check that the CLIP remains fastened to a ground that has a clean surface with no paint. • Repair components in an ESD-protection area or use a PORTABLE GROUNDING MAT. • When moving ESD-sensitive components from area to area, insert and transport the components in the special material made for the transport of these components. II3337-2 – 10FEB09 5 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Section 3: Installing the Hardware Kodak ADAPTIVE PICTURE EXCHANGE 26 Installing the Components [1] Loosen the KNOB on the right side STABILIZER FOOT. [2] Rotate the STABILIZER FOOT out. [3] Lower the STABILIZER FOOT so that it is level with the floor. [4] Tighten the KNOB. [5] Do Step 1 - Step 4 with the left side STABILIZER FOOT. [10] Connect the components and PRINTERS to the PROCESSOR. See “Connections” on Page 35. Important You must connect the POWER CORD for the F-135 FILM SCANNER to a power source outside the APEX. [11] Connect the POWER CORDS for the components to the POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX. [12] Install the SKIRTS (not shown) for the APEX 26. [13] Install the optional BACK PANEL ORGANIZER for the APEX 26. See the INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS included with the BACK PANEL ORGANIZER. II3337-2 – 10FEB09 7 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Completing the Installation of the Hardware PROCESSOR [1] Install the COVER for the PROCESSOR. COVER [2] Connect the NETWORK CABLE for the APEX to: • APEX • main network Caution Dangerous Voltage PROCESSOR [3] Connect the POWER CORDS from the CABINETS to the main power. [4] Turn on the main power switches for the CABINETS. A171_1067ACA [5] Load paper and ribbon into the PRINTERS. See A171_1067AC the User’s Guide. [6] Load labels into the LABEL PRINTER. See the User’s Guide. [7] Wait for the PRINTERS to display “Ready”. [8] Check that the lights on the FILM SCANNER illuminate green only. Note All of the lights on the FILM SCANNER might not be illuminated. [5] Connect the components and PRINTERS to the PROCESSOR. See “Connections” on Page 35. II3337-2 – 10FEB09 9 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Installing the FOUR TRAY SORTERS [1] Install the bottom FOUR TRAY SORTER. (a) Remove the 2 THUMBSCREWS from the DATA CABLE CABINET. (b) Use the 2 pins to position the FOUR TRAY SORTER. POWER (c) Install the 2 THUMBSCREWS. CABLE (d) Connect to the PPAC BOARD: • DATA CABLE • POWER CABLE FOUR TRAY SORTER A171_1039GCA A171_1039GC 2 THUMBSCREWS [2] Install the top FOUR TRAY SORTER. (a) Remove the 2 THUMBSCREWS from the CABINET. DATA CABLE (b) Use the 2 pins to position the FOUR TRAY SORTER. (c) Install the 2 THUMBSCREWS.
