I worked in Lincoln for seventeen years at the Electronics company AEI, later known as Marconi. This is where I met my husband, Roy. I moved into Accountancy and later, Sales. In 1994 we purchased Ivy Lodge on Messingham Road, entering the hospitality industry. In 2008 I graduated with a Foundation Business Degree from Lincoln University, as a mature student, having studied at North Lindsey College. I thoroughly enjoy living in Scotter, having developed our business here providing Bed & Breakfast to some wonderful people, many of whom have since settled locally. My time within the hospitality industry led me to being made a Non-executive Director of Lincolnshire Tourism around 2010. Tourism is an important component of the local economy of West Lindsey. I am pleased that during my time in this post I helped secure a dedicated council employee with responsibility for promoting tourism. By listening, working hard and bringing a fresh approach to the role of District Councillor I know I can make a real difference. I have ambitions for our whole area that I am confident local people share.
