The project implementation progress continues to be satisfactory. All the local roads and most of the Guyaozi–Qingtongxia Expressway (GQE) funded by the project have been completed and opened to traffic. Environmental impact was kept in minimum during construction, and significant efforts have been put into site restoration and environmental protection. In addition, land acquisition and house demolition for the GQE had been completed with compensations being fully delivered to the affected people in compliance with the RAP. The project is on track to achieve its PDO.
