6 - FIM EUROPE ANNUAIRE 2019 www.fim-europe.com PAGINE BIANCHE 2019 - 01.qxp_Layout 1 06/03/19 09:32 Pagina 7 Welcome from the FIM Europe (acting) President Dear Presidents of the 46 European Federations and of the 6 Regional Associations, Ladies and Gentlemen and our young riders, The Congress in Nantes (France) represented the start of a new mandate for a period of four years. We can look back on a successful and well organ- ised Congress, including the Road Safety Confer- ence. In occasion of this Conference a lot of items were presented and discussed. The items were re- lated to the use of electric motorbikes, for road use as well as applications in several sport disciplines. This presentation showed us the progress of the French Federation (FFM) in the development of E-motorcycles. One day after the elections, the renewed Management Council had its first meet- ing, whose most important point was the division of tasks. The 2018 season was successful, with all kind of activities in sport, beyond sport, training and education. This was also the case in our Regional Associations: AAMU (Alpe Adria), AMM, (Mediterranean), BMA (Baltic), BMU (Balkan), MACEC (Central Europe) and the NMC (Nordic). These Associations organise several competitions in the different disciplines. The organization of good competitions with less travel costs prove the advantage of the Regional activities. In many cases, the pyramid in motor- sport starts at this level. The next steps are the Continental Championships up to the World Championships. Our promoters are playing a significant role in this process. The sporting season is prepared in occasion of the annual Congress and in the meetings of all Sporting Commissions in October and November (Road Racing, Drag Racing, Motocross and Snowcross, Supermoto, Enduro and Rally, Trial, Track Racing, Motoball, Vintage). For all Commissions is this the last chance to fine-tune the regulations and to propose the calendar to the Management Coun- cil. On the calendar of last year many Championships and Cups have been or- ganized by the Federations and their clubs. All together, we have seen 43 Championships and 21 Cups, with a total of 457 races. The MXGP Academy has already four years of experience, with the training of young talented riders during the MXGP weekends. Besides this, the Academy organised the course “Train the trainers” in the North and South of Europe. L’AMOTOE (Grèce) a organisé l’an passé l’excursion du Club FIM Europe.
