Sports Roundup Barton sports teams have been in action either side of half term, with pupils competing in the year 5/6 tag rugby finals, Island cross country relays, and football matches.

The tag rugby team are the joint 5th best team on the island after beating St. Saviours and Northwood.

The cross country team all produced amazing performances with the Year 5 boys finishing 7th out of 22, year 6 girls finished 14th out of 22 and year 6 boys finished 17 out of 23.

In recent football matches the Year 3/4 team narrowly lost to 1-0 and the year 5/6 team narrowly beat 1-0.

Well Done to all the players, and thank you to Mr Orchard, Mrs Smith, Mrs Darcy, Mrs Armiger, Mrs Bakewell and Mrs Shepherd for supporting all the teams.

We have a lot more football matches, athletics competitions and an archery festival planned for this term. If you are interested representing the school please speak to Mr Day.

As part of our science learning in

Totland Class , we have been finding

out about having a healthy, balanced

diet. We have learnt all about the different food groups (carbohydrates, proteins, dairy, fruit & vegetables, fats & sugar) and how much we should

have of each of them. In order to develop our learning we held a 'superhero superfood' afternoon, where we tried foods from all different food groups and created a healthy balanced meal
