He played his sophomore season at Santa Clara’s Mission College before joining the Aggies. Acosta graduated from UC Davis in 1996, then earned his master’s degree in education from Chapman University in 2001. He and his wife, Karen, were married on New Years’ Eve of 1998, the same day as Matt and Dana Vaughn. They have three children, Brendon (8), Makyla (4) and Caden (2).
