DWIGHT ICENHOWER www.DwightIcenhower.com Orlando, FL Dwight Icenhower is considered to be one of the best Elvis Tribute Artists in the world today. He has mastered the 50's, 60's, and 70's eras of Elvis' career and has won a myriad of national Elvis awards. Dwight Icenhower is recognized not only for his great personality on and off stage, but also for his amazing voice that has sometimes even been mistaken for Elvis Presley himself! He has performed with many of the original musicians who have worked with Elvis including: The Jordanaires, The Stamps Quartet, The Sweet Inspirations, Joe Gerchio, DJ Fontana and Duke Bardwell (just to name a few). He has taken home over 65 "First Place" awards in contests from all over the world; and in 2015, Dwight Icenhower became the only Elvis Tribute Artist in history to ever win four World Championship "First Place" titles consecutively during Elvis Week, in Memphis TN . This amazing journey has been a dream come true to Dwight, and he wishes to continue using his incredible talents to keep the memory of Elvis Presley alive for many more generations to come. In fact, Elvis largely influenced and greatly inspired Ryan, who has been entertaining fans all over the country since he was 18 years old. It has been a love affair for Ryan with Elvis fans because they are the best fans in the world. He had his own show at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio when he was 20. At the age of 26 Ryan landed a couple of appearances on TNN:The Country Music Channel's show "Be a Star", which led to him meeting and recording with Jeff Huskins, who played fiddle for country music star, Clint Black and country music band Little Texas. In 2001 Ryan started performing at the Grand Victoria and Bell Terra Casino's on a regular basis. He has performed with Lou Rawls, Brenda Lee and Don McClean. In 2009 Ryan decided to start paying tribute to Elvis Presley and has brought his tribute to people all over the country. It started out as a song associated with the slaves’ struggle for freedom, but after the American Civil War (1861-65) it became a very high-spirited peace song for people who were fed up with fighting.1 And the folk singer Pete Seeger notes on the record “Waist Deep in the Big Muddy and Other Love Songs”, that: "'Down by the Riverside' is, of course, one of the oldest of the Negro spirituals, coming out of the South in the years following the Civil War."2 But is the song as we know it today really as old as it is claimed without any sources?
