The band lineup for the tour continues to be a firm fan-favorite, with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on keyboards, Willie Weeks on bass, Steve Jordan on drums and backing vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White During the set, EC's long-time musical inspiration, JJ Cale, sat in for five songs, including three from their Grammy-Award winning album, The Road To Escondido, released in 2006. ARTIST & INFO Hometown: UK In the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek and the Dominos, as well as through his prolific solo work, guitarist Eric Clapton has re-defined his own version of the blues. In October 1963, Keith Relf and Paul Samwell-Smith recruited him to become a member of The Yardbirds because Clapton was the most talked about guitar player on the R&B pub circuit. When he became a member of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in 1965, Clapton established his reputation as a guitarist and earned his second nickname: “God”. After leaving the Bluesbreakers in 1966, Eric teamed up with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker to form the worldwide-acclaimed band Cream. While a member of Cream, he cemented his reputation as rock’s premier guitarist and was elevated to superstar status. In the summer of 1970, Eric formed Derek and the Dominos with Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and Bobby Whitlock from Delaney & Bonnie’s band. The Dominos would go on to record the seminal rock album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. His career reached new heights in 1992 with the release of Unplugged and the Grammy winning single, “Tears In Heaven.” Clapton is the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (as a member of both the Yardbirds and Cream and as a solo artist).

And what a year it was! The year had barely begun when we were already saying goodbye to musical heroes gone far too soon. David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Maurice White, Prince, George Michael ... the list goes on. And yet, despite the sadness of these losses, there is much for the industry to celebrate. Music consumption is at an all-time high. Overall consumption of album sales, song sales and audio on-demand streaming volume is up 5% over 2015, fueled by an incredible 203% increase in on-demand audio streams, enough to offset declines in sales and return a positive year for the business. 2016 also marked the highest vinyl sales total to date. It was an incredible year for Canadian artists, at home and abroad. Eight different Canadian artists had #1 albums in 2016, led by Drake whose album Views was the biggest album of the year in Canada as well as the U.S. The Tragically Hip had two albums reach the top of the chart as well, their latest release and their 2005 best of album, and their emotional farewell concert in August was something we’ll remember for a long time. Justin Bieber, Billy Talent, Céline Dion, Shawn Mendes, Leonard Cohen and The Weeknd also spent time at #1. Break out artist Alessia Cara as well as accomplished superstar Michael Buble also enjoyed successes this year.

    Marianne Crebassa Mezzo-Soprano Marianne Crebassa is confirming her place on the most prestigious world stages, across the opera, concert and recital repertoires. Highlights of next season see her Met debut as Cherubino her return to Chicago as Rosina, her returns to Berlin and Vienna for new productions of Cosi fan Tutte as Dorabella. On the concert stage, she sings Mahler 3 in Paris conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen and embarks on a European tour in the title role Ariodante. Additionally she makes her Wigmore Hall recital debut. As an exclusive recording artist with Erato, her second disc, “Secrets”, an eclectically chosen programme recorded with Fazil Say, was released in 2017 and received a Gramophone Award. The duo has recently given recitals together in La Scala, the Salzburg Festival, the Theatre des Champs Elysées, the Elbphilharmonie. Marianne’s operatic season 2018/2019 was marked by the title role in Orphée et Eurydice at the Opera Comique and her debut as Angelina, La Cenerentola at the Opéra National de Paris and La Scala. She also took on the roles of Rosina and Melisande at the Berlin Staatsoper. In concert she returned to London to sing Berio’s Follksongs and makes this summer her first appearance at the famous Waldbuhne concert series with the Berlin Philharmoniker.
