Rebound drills 3-on-3 box out and go REBOUND DRILLS: 3-ON-3 BOX OUT & GO Skills Covered *Rebounding *Passing *Screening *Defending Screens *Transition Defense *Transition Offense Alignment *Three offensive players on perimeter, one at the top of the key and one on each wing. *Ball starts with player at the top of the key *One defensive player guarding each offensive player in proper defensive position in relationship to where the ball is on the floor. *Rest of the players under the basket, divided into groups of three, ready to rotate into drill. Running the Drill *Point guard passes to the wing. Defenders let the pass go through and screens away to the opposite wing. *If wing defender cheats to get around the screen, offensive player cuts to rim and receives pass for a layup. *If wing defender plays straight defense, screen should be successfull, and wing player cuts to the free throw line to receive pass. *Offensive player shoots from the free throw line. The defender will put their hand up but will not block the shot. *Three defensive players yell "Shot!" locate their person, block them out, and secure the rebound. *Defensive players must get three rebounds, then they can fastbreak to the opposite end afte the third rebound. (3-on-3 transition) Drill Variations *Coach can make three defensive players get more or less three rebounds depending on the skill level and the number of players waiting for their reps. *Coach can allow defender to block shot at the free throw line if shooter continually make it, otherwise it is impossible to get three rerbounds and continue the drill.
