ANNUAL CHOPSHTICKS EVENT FEATURES COMEDIAN CAROL LEIFER

Palo Alto, CA, December 7, 2009 – The Oshman Family JCC presents Carol Leifer as the headliner for their annual Chopshticks Dinner and Comedy Show on Thursday, December 24 at 7:30 PM. Leifer is an accomplished stand-up comedian, Emmy-nominated writer/producer and author of When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win. “Chopshticks always attracts a diverse adult audience looking for an alternative activity during the holidays,” said Sally Oken, OFJCC Arts and Culture Director. “With Carol Leifer, we’re expecting another sell-out event!“

Leifer's "inner monologue" observational style touches on her Jewish ancestry and upbringing, same-sex marriage, relationships and parenting. In her book, Leifer reveals all – her age, outlook and philosophy – no holds barred. Leifer has written for , , , and The . She has starred in her own comedy specials on HBO, Showtime and and has appeared on The Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

In addition to Leifer’s delightful comedy, Chopshticks attendees will enjoy a gourmet vegetarian and fish dinner in an upscale atmosphere. Tables accommodate up to 10 people and whole tables can be reserved. This event is a great solution for small companies and families seeking a unique and affordable way to celebrate the holidays.

Chopshticks will take place at Ming’s Restaurant in Palo Alto, located at 1700 Embarcadero Road. Individual tickets for open seating are $70 for OFJCC Members and $75 for Non-Members. Purchase 10 tickets for $700 and you’ll get reserved seating at a table. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
