PLEASE READ ALL NOTES SCHOLARSHIP NOTE (I) Texas Tech offers a Study Abroad competitive scholarship that could cover a part of this cost HOST FAMILY NOTES (11) The student may request roommate andlor host family. (11) All meals in Seville are included FIELD TRIPS NOTE (Ill) Trips to Portugal and Central Spain include hotels, all transportation, and fees (see note IV for entrance fees) Hotels only include breakfasts. However, lunch and dinners are budgeted under "Personal Expenses." INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ID NOTE (lv) IMPORTANT -The program will cover all fees for museums, monasteries, palaces, castles. and cathedrals during the Portugal and Central Spain Field Trips (and some Seville excursions) ONLY if the student brings an International Student ID (get it at the TTU lnternational Cultural Center for $22). Otherwise, the student will pay for these entrances and some are expensive. TRAVEL NOTES (v) IMPORTANT -The student will Arrive in Seville on May 13 and Depart from Madrid on June 15. The flight has to be a Multi-City flight. If students arrange a round trip to Seville, the airline will not allow them to sk~pthe first leg of the return and board in Madrid. (V) A day is lost when traveling to Europe. Plan to Depart the USA on May 12 to arrive on May 13. Orientation begins on May 13 at 5:00 pm at Hotel Fernando Ill, Calle San Jose 21, Seville Spain, so plan to be at the hotel by that time. (v) Students will arrange their own flight. If the student searches for a bargain flight that is around $950 (many flights can be found at this price or cheaper if the ticket is bought early), helshe could use the difference to pay for the "Weekend in Granada" excursion or could add this difference to their personal expenses amount. If a family member with free airline miles is willing to spend those miles on the student's flight, this can be a major cost-saver. (VI) If the student already has a passport helshe will not need to spend this amount. PERSONAL SPENDING NOTES: (VII) The student needs to adjust this number based on hislher spending habits. This number is a conservative estimate based on moderate spending (not extravagant) and therefore, does not include souvenirs, expensive gifts, shopping, or extravagant meals. GRANADA and CORODBA (VIII) Could be included under "Personal Expenses" if the student is very careful with hislher spending. (VIII) Price includes all meals, transportation, entrance fees (with lnternational Student ID) and hotels. (VIII) Price does not include souvenirs ROME Notes (IX) Approximate cost based on students who traveled in 2009 and 201 0. (X) This is a conservative estimate and does not include souvenirs, shopping, extravagant meals, or elegant hotels. This estimate is based on a 3-night stay.
