Astronomy Night: Grumblethorpe Historic House & Garden 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Grumblethorpe Historic House & Garden is a proud core collaborator/partner of the Philadelphia Science Festival - An annual celebration featuring 100+ events all designed to feed our curiosity. For 9 days, Philadelphia's schools, universities, cultural institutions and research centers have come together as a single, united voice to put science in the spotlight. Scientists and engineers throughout the city are presenting fun, interactive programs for Philadelphians of all ages from now until May 3. The Philadelphia Science Festival is organized by The Franklin Institute and presented by Dow Chemical Company.

Itinerary Notes
PSF Volunteers and Astronomers will arrive at 7:00pm. Star gazing begins at 7:30pm. Site hosts, please be sure to distribute PSF Program Guides, Astronomy Night Cards and Star Maps to event attendees. PSF volunteers will be happy to assist you with this- just ask!

Volunteer Shift Information
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PSF VOLUNTEERS: Upon arrival, please check-in with the primary event contact listed on your event itinerary. Volunteers may be asked to help direct attendees to the star gazing location and assist with crowd control around the telescopes.
Volunteers are encouraged to pass out “I heart science” stickers and any other Astronomy Night handouts to attendees. Volunteers are also responsible for evaluating event attendees. Pencils and evaluations can be found in your volunteer bag. Feel free to visit with event participants, and please be sure to hand out program guides and talk up other events taking place over the course of the festival- especially since this event kicks-off our 9 day celebration! Once the event is over, please assist site organizers with any cleanup or load-out that is needed. Please return any evaluations you’ve collected in the envelope provided in your volunteer bag.
