Any classes which do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements may be cancelled. Please register early to enhance our plan- ning and ability to provide you with excellent service. The Novi Community School District has a centralized enrollment system to improve customer service for new families and students. Parents and guardians no longer enroll their students at individual school buildings. The one-stop enrollment for all Novi Schools – preschool through high school – now takes place through the Community Education Department, located at the Early Childhood Education Center. Novi Community School District is not a Schools of Choice District. Kindergarten registration is currently taking place for the 2021-2022 school year. YOUTH SWIM LESSONS SUMMER LAP SWIM TIMES Classes are designed for the child’s ability, not age. Use the descriptions below to help EFFECTIVE JUNE 14TH-JULY 30TH determine your child’s placement level. All classes follow the American Red Cross level guidelines. Due to Covid-19, classes will be held on a 3:1 student to instructor ratio. All instructors will wear a safety visor. Parents will be asked to sit in the upper bleachers during all lessons. Students and parents must wear a mask while on deck. Students and parents must complete a health screening prior to each class. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow for this. Location: Novi High School Pool Cost: $4.00 per swimmer or 1 pool buck pass Level Descriptions Preschool Aquatics Level: (ages 3-5) DAY LAP SWIM The purpose of this class is to orient pre-school age children to the pool environment and get them comfortable in the water. Parents will not enter the water. The focus of this class is independent submersion, as well as swimming, floating, and gliding very short distances with and without support. All Day Students should be comfortable in the water, be able to submerge themselves completely. Saturday...... Closed The focus of this class is learning to swim away from the wall short distances using the fundamentals of front and back crawl. Students will also master floating, and streamlined Sunday...... Closed gliding for approximately 10-15 feet. Level 3: Intermediate SUMMER POOL CLOSURES Students should be able to demonstrate front crawl while breathing to the side and back July 2, Aug 1 – Sept. 6 crawl for a minimum of 15 feet.
