If you would like to come and sing songs for the holidays, please join us at this workshop. We will learn songs that can be sung for specific holidays. If you have a favorite song that you would like to share, we would like to learn it too. Please Note: This workshop is designed to expand your knowledge of good songs that can be used in your personal & community activities. The words were taken from many sources. I worked hard to find the writer of each song & have given information on who has recorded it. My apologies to the artists for any errors or omissions I have made. If you like the music, support the artist. CHORUS: Cup of the moon, filling, filling, shining in the night. Cup of the Moon, spilling, spilling, spilling out her light. We dance in the light, in the silvery light, When the moon is at her fill. And when the cup of the Moon is empty, We wait here listening and still. In the dark of the moon, we grow more in tune, With the earth and the sky and then, We watch and wait and find joy in knowing, The cup will refill again. We dance in the light, in the silvery light, When the moon is at her fill. And when the cup of the Moon is empty, We wait for her to refill. Dark of the Moon By Karen Beth (1993), recorded on “Night Passage” by Libana (2000). First Melody Line: Dark night, starry night. New beginnings. Dark night, starry night. Will come to be. Sing me a lullaby soft and low; Moon Mother sailing the sky, Sing me of ages gone long ago,You who will never die. Make me a pillow of meadowsweet, Cover my body with stars. Safe in your radiance, let me sleep, Queen of the mystic dark. Dream me of circle and fairy rings, Whisper me secrets and charms, Wind through the willow tree, spiraling, Gather me in Your arms. Moonflow By Terry Garthwaite, recorded on “Sacred Circles” (19?). I am having the time of my life. Oh, I am living the prime of my life. Like the cycles of the moon, comes a woman into bloom. I am having the time of my life. Yes (Oh), I am having the time of my life. Oh (Yes), I am living the prime of my life. Like the seed becomes a flower, in my wisdom is my power I am having the time of my life. In my wisdom, power comes to me. COUNTERPOINT: I’m having a good time, happiness is here to stay. In my rhythm, power comes to me. Yes, it’s a good time, living it day to day. In my singing, power comes to me. In my silence, power comes to me. In my laughter, power comes to me. In my loving, power comes to me In my harmony, power comes to me. In my sorrow, power comes to me. In my living, power comes to me. It’s a change of life, um hum, power comes to me. REPEAT The Moon is My Mistress By Mary Ann Fusco, in Circle of Songs by Kate Marks (1993). The Moon is my mistress, like fire is She. I follow where She leads. She burns my senses, She dances on the sea, I follow where She leads. The Moon is my mother, She stills my soul, She holds me in a circle, She lets me go. I weep in Her shadow, I laugh in Her glow. The Moon is my sister, Strong and Wise. She melts the darkness, She turns the tides. I see myself in Her eyes, I see myself in Her eyes.
