Table of Contents Pagan Songs and Chants Listed Alphabetically By Vella Rose’s Pagan Song Book August 2014 Edition This is collection of songs and chants has been created for educational purposes for pagan communities. I did my best to include the name of the artists who created the music and where the songs have been recorded (please forgive me for any errors). This is a work in progress, started over 12 years ago, a labor of love, that has no end. There are and have been many wonderful artists who have created music for our community. Please honor them by acknowledging them if you include their songs in your rituals or song circles. Many of the songs are available on the web, some additional resources are included in Appendix A to help you find them. Blessings and thanks to all. NOTE: Page numbers only works to 170 – then something went wrong and I can’t figure it out, sorry. J. Tucker, recorded on “Sirens”(2006) There’s an alligator in the house, a toothy grin appears beneath my chair A scaly tail goes sliding out of sight, now it’s gone, was it ever there? Something odd has moved into the house, reptilian tracks lead underneath the bed. And all the cats are tasty fat and scared, though I doubt we’ve lost any yet. Chorus: So what’s the big deal doesn’t everyone have an alligator somewhere somehow? And maybe this one has always been here, but I’ve never noticed until now. There’s an alligator in the house, just caught her napping in the living room. She was dozing on the velvet couch, and the cats were sleeping there too. There’s an alligator in the house, no one seems to mind except for me. Well at least she doesn’t eat the cats; I suspect she’d rather eat me. There’s an alligator in the pit, she is dancing wildly with the snakes To win them over to her cause, she will do whatever it takes. They think I don’t see their little smiles, as they plan reptilian over throw. But I hear them talking in my dreams, they will not be sad to see me go. Chorus I’ve begun to worry ‘bout my toes; the alligator seems to think them nice. I’ve counted all of them a hundred times, but I’ve never got the same number twice. There’s an alligator in my bed, she is not a master of disguise. Just a pillow waiting for my head, soft and sweet and hungrily she lies. There’s an alligator in the house, today she joined me for a spot of tea. She helped herself to raspberries and cream, and she didn’t leave any for me. Well, I thought that I had seen it all, but this alligator proved me wrong. Like a lady, as she drank her tea, she sang to me this little song. So what’s the big deal doesn’t everyone have an alligator somewhere somehow? I know that you would miss me if you found me gone, though you never noticed me ‘til now. Chorus ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** All My Relations By Denean, recorded on “Fire Prayer” (1991). He gave me these seventy- five verses and state- ments while I was unpacking my past and starting to understand who I truly am in Jesus. Ever since then, I have carried these close to my heart. I pray these will minister to you the way they have to me so that you, too, can understand that in Christ, you are free indeed! 1. John 1:12—I am a child of God. 2. Bit scary and I would say a number of you may have to go through beginner lessons again and also wear name tags lol. On the 9th of May the national association had their AGM with a number of clubs from throughout New Zealand that were involved. First time ever we had to run the meeting through zoom so talking to 40 odd people from around the country was quite weird but it worked. A number of remits were discussed and voted on with a collection of changes mostly good but a few I didn’t agree with but you all can see it all on the association website if you are interested in looking . Also senior and junior nationals were voted on where they should be hosted and that is also advertised on their website. Juniors next year will be in Porirua and Seniors will be in Wanganui.

This led them to an absorption with the Jewish creation myths in Genesis, which they obsessively reinterpreted to formulate allegorical explanations of how humans ended up trapped in the world of matter. The basic Gnostic story, which varied in details from teacher to teacher, was this: In the beginning there was an unknowable, immaterial, and invisible God, sometimes called the Father of All and sometimes by other names. “He” was neither male nor female, and was composed of an implicitly finite amount of a living nonphysical substance. Surrounding this God was a great empty region called the Pleroma (the fullness). Beyond the Pleroma lay empty space. The God acted to fill the Pleroma through a series of emanations, a squeezing off of small portions of his/its nonphysical energetic divine material. In most accounts there are thirty emanations in fifteen complementary pairs, each getting slightly less of the divine material and therefore being slightly weaker. The emanations are called Aeons (eternities) and are mostly named personifications in Greek of abstract ideas.

The BFF is a contemporary reinterpretation of an ancient Celtic festival celebrating the passage of the seasons. It is a spring festival marking the end of winter and the beginning of summer. As such, the underlying symbolism of the BFF is renewal and rebirth, given the relationship to the passage of the seasons and, furthermore, fertility of people, land and livestock (BFS 2007; Frazer 1922). The contemporary BFF is an interesting context as while it is based on a traditional agrarian and calendrical rite of passage celebrating the passage of a season, it also embodies life-crises style rites of passage for many of the performers in its modern re-interpretation as a liminoid experience (Turner 1975).

August 2012 Newsletter ------------------------------------ Yesterday & Today Records P.O.Box 54 Miranda NSW 2228 Phone: (02) 95311710 Email:[email protected] www.yesterdayandtoday.com.au ------------------------------------------------ Postage Australia post is essentially the world’s most expensive service. We aim to break even on postage and will use the best method to minimise costs. One good innovation is the introduction of the “POST PLUS” satchels, which replace the old red satchels and include a tracking number. Available in 3 sizes they are 500 grams ($7.50) 3kgs ($11.50) 5kgs ($14.50) P & P. The latter 2 are perfect for larger interstate packages as anything over 500 grams even is going to cost more than $11.50. We can take a cd out of a case to reduce costs. Basically 1 cd still $2. 2cds $3 and rest as they will fit. Again Australia Post have this ludicrous notion that if a package can fit through a certain slot on a card it goes as a letter whereas if it doesn’t it is classified as a “parcel” and can cost up to 5 times as much. One day I will send a letter to the Minister for Trade as their policies are distinctly prejudicial to commerce. Out here they make massive profits but offer a very poor number of services and charge top dollar for what they do provide. Still, the mail mostly always gets there. But until ssuch times as their local monopoly remains, things won’t be much different. ----------------------------------------------- For those long term customers and anyone receiving these newsletters for the first time we have several walk in sales per year, with the next being Saturday August 25th.

  • BASICS of WILL DRAFTING the Importance of Having a Will a Will
BASICS OF WILL DRAFTING PATRICIA J. SHEVY, ESQ. THE SHEVY LAW FIRM LLC [email protected] The Importance of Having a Will A Will sets forth a person’s directions with respect to the direction of his or her assets after death. Without a properly executed Will, the laws of intestacy will apply to the distribution of a person’s assets. Many clients assume that the laws of intestacy will suffice. However, what happens in the following example: Husband and Wife have 3 minor children. Husband has $700,000 in assets. Wife has $1,000 in assets. The house is owned jointly by Husband and Wife. Husband dies. Wife keeps the house as surviving joint tenant. The remaining $700,000 is divided between Wife and children according to the laws of intestacy (Wife receives $50,000 plus ½ of the remaining $650,000; the 3 children split the remaining $325,000). But remember the children are minors, so the court will be involved until the youngest child reaches majority. This is probably not the outcome Husband and Wife had in mind. Problems with Intestate Succession When a New York State resident dies leaving no Will, the assets of the decedent will be distributed under New York Estates, Powers and Trusts Law (“EPTL”) Article 4, which lists the order and amount that family members will take from the estate of the decedent. In cases where a person dies intestate, EPTL §4-1.1 provides that a decedent’s assets will be distributed as follows: . If survived by a surviving spouse and children, the spouse receives $50,000 and ½ of the balance.
