High School Partnerships: Dual Enrollment

What Is Dual Enrollment?

Qualified high school seniors are invited to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program at Brookdale Community College.* The Dual Enrollment Program allows students to complete up to 12 Brookdale credits during their senior year of high school. Credits earned through the Dual Enrollment Program may be used toward high school and/or college requirements. This program was developed in response to the 12th Grade Option initiated by the Department of Education. The goal of this program is to give qualified high school students the opportunity to experience college courses and prepare for the academic rigor of college.

*Certain high schools also allow qualified juniors to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program.

Brookdale Community College delivers the Dual Enrollment Program in the following two ways:

The Dual Enrollment Release Program

The Dual Enrollment Release Program allows qualified high school seniors to be released from their high school for half a day to take college-level courses at Brookdale’s Lincroft campus or any of Brookdale’s Higher Education Centers.
