ACCOMMODATIONS: Fully restored to its original grandeur, The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald offers all the amenities of a world class hotel with attentive, personalized service. The hotel has 199 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites with either a view of Edmonton City Centre or our “View” rooms which offer expansive views of Edmonton’s River Valley, North America’s largest urban park land and the beautiful hotel gardens. Fairmont and Fairmont View: Distinctly furnished in elegant traditional décor, Fairmont rooms offer all the modern essentials. Conveniently located throughout the hotel, these also include a business desk and cozy arm chair; guestrooms are available with one king, one queen or two double beds. (Approx 300 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) Deluxe and Deluxe View: Enjoy the additional space of a larger living space in these elegant rooms along with all the features of our Fairmont rooms. (Approx 380 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) Grand Deluxe and Grand Deluxe View Rest and relax in the comfortable and generous surroundings of a Grand Deluxe room, ideals for families or extended stay guests (Approx 450 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) Executive Suites: Available throughout the hotel these beautiful one bedroom suites offer a variety of interesting shapes and sizes. They feature a private bedroom with a king bed and a separate parlour with double sofa bed. These suites include two televisions on in the bedroom and one in the parlour as well as turn down service. (400 - 700 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) Signature Rooms: Also know as Lord Strathcona rooms with these rooms are decorated in historical theme with memorabilia from the Lord Stathcona Regiment based in Edmonton. These rooms offer spectacular views of Edmonton’s River Valley, include complimentary breakfast in our Harvest Dinning Room and as well as turn down service. Signature Rooms are available with one king bed or two double beds. (400 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) Signature Suite: Decorated in historical theme with memorabilia from the Lord Stathcona Regiment, this king bedded suite includes a separate parlour that closes off from the bedroom for privacy and boasts spectacular views of the River Valley and hotel gardens. This suite offers complimentary breakfast in our Harvest Dinning Room and as well as turn down service (400 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) The Sir John A. Macdonald, The Peter Lougheed and the Aberhart Manning Suites: These exquisite two bedrooms suites are ideal are an ideal option for guests traveling with family, friends or as a group. They comprised of two luxurious bedrooms, one king and one two bedded rooms and are separate by a parlour with a sofa bed, each room has their own private bathroom. Decorated with their namesakes in mind, these rooms all feature a spectacular view of Edmonton’s River (975 sq. ft. with 10 feet high ceilings) The Charles Melville Hays Suite, 8th Floor: This open-concept guestroom offers spacious elegant surrounding with a large sitting area and features views of Edmonton city centre. This 8th floor king bedded suite offers an expansive bathroom with double whirlpool and features turn down service. (290 sq. ft. with 9 feet high ceilings) The King Edward VII Suite, 8th Floor: One of our four “Specialty Suites” located on the 8th floor. This bi level suite is well suited for small meetings or intimate dinner as the main floor offers a half bathroom, large living area and a dinning room table with seating for four. The elegant bedroom located upstairs with a jetted tub. Turn down service is also included in this suite. (1350 sq. ft., 9 feet high ceilings on both floors) The George VI Suite, 8th Floor: The unique design of the King George VI Suite makes it very popular for honeymooners and anniversaries. Upon entering you ascend a staircase to the elegant living room area with wonderful views of the river valley. The large bathroom has a double-sized Jacuzzi-style tub separate stall shower. Just off the living room is an enchanting sunken bedroom featuring a four-poster queen-sized bed. Turn-down service is also included with the suite. (534 sq. ft) The Winston Churchill Suite 8th Floor: This stately bi-level suite features a spacious living room with easy chairs and a half bathroom. A top of the stairs you are welcomed into a large bedroom, with writing desk and expansive bedroom with jetted tub. (1350 sq. ft. 9feet high ceilings on both floors) The Lois Hole Suite, 8th Floor: Named for one of Alberta’s most loved Lieutenant Governors, this bright and open suite is one of the most beautiful in the hotel. The spacious and comfortable living room has large windows overlooking the hotel gardens which are planted by Holes Greenhouse & Gardens which Lois Hole herself had her husband Ted founded in 1979. Elegant and full of memorabilia, the suite’s bedroom is separated from the living room area by French doors; the large bathroom features a jetted tub. (434 sq. ft. 9 feet high ceilings) The Queen Elizabeth II Suite, 8th Floor: This regal two bedroom suite is named and decorated for the British Monarch who stayed in this suite in May 2005. With unsurpassed luxury and magnificent cathedral ceilings a stay in this suite is unforgettable. The suite includes a large foyer, service pantry, and elegant dinning room with seating for 8, a grand spacious living room, a two bedded room on the main floor and king master bedroom on the upper floor, two full bathrooms and half bathroom room off the foyer. Simply said, it’s fit for a Queen! The Harvest Room is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Confederation Lounge is the ideal location to slip away and relax with drinks or enjoy a lighter fare under our historic Fathers of Confederation mural. In-room Dining is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. MACDONALD HEALTH CLUB AND POOL Our personally staffed health club offers exceptional personal service with fully equipped exercise areas, two squash courts, indoor pool, whirl pool, dry sauna and steam room. Health Club and Pool access is available on a complimentary basis to all registered guests of The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. We also have registered massage therapists on call seven days a week to attend to your personal needs. WALKING AND JOGGING TRAILS: Maps of trails that wind along the beautiful North Saskatchewan River Valley are available at the Health Club reception desk. Using the Hotel as a landmark and the River Valley as your guide, the trails invite all levels of walking, jogging and running enthusiasts to get outdoors and experience the wonder of North America’s longest continuous stretch of urban parkland. BUSINESS SERVICES The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald's Work Centre is available to all registered guests of the hotel and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with our convenient card key access system. Amenities include two deluxe computer workstations featuring laser printers and programs your delegates use daily, a six-seat executive boardroom, photocopier, fax machine, complimentary coffee and tea, and current periodicals. The Work Centre also features a six-seat boardroom available on a first-come, first-serve basis. HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is pleased to offer Wireless High Speed Internet Access (WIFI) in all of our guest rooms and meeting space. Called FairmontNet, WSIA runs on state-of-the-art 10 Mbit fiber circuits and as this service is owned and operated by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, it is ad-free. Daily guestroom charges are $14.95 per day and, as an added benefit, we extend this service on a complimentary basis to our Fairmont President’s Club members.
