Introduction
INTRODUCTION ’ P”(Bha.t.tikāvya) is one of the boldest “B experiments in classical literature. In the formal genre of “great poem” (mahākāvya) it incorprates two of the most powerful Sanskrit traditions, the “Ramáyana” and Pánini’s grammar, and several other minor themes. In this one rich mix of science and art, Bhatti created both a po- etic retelling of the adventures of Rama and a compendium of examples of grammar, metrics, the Prakrit language and rhetoric. As literature, his composition stands comparison with the best of Sanskrit poetry, in particular cantos , and . “Bhatti’s Poem” provides a comprehensive exem- plification of Sanskrit grammar in use and a good introduc- tion to the science (śāstra) of poetics or rhetoric (alamk. āra, lit. ornament). It also gives a taster of the Prakrit language (a major component in every Sanskrit drama) in an easily ac- cessible form. Finally it tells the compelling story of Prince Rama in simple elegant Sanskrit: this is the “Ramáyana” faithfully retold. e learned Indian curriculum in late classical times had at its heart a system of grammatical study and linguistic analysis. e core text for this study was the notoriously difficult “Eight Books” (A.s.tādhyāyī) of Pánini, the sine qua non of learning composed in the fourth century , and arguably the most remarkable and indeed foundational text in the history of linguistics. Chapter 6: India Subhash Kak Our understanding of archaeoastronomical sites in India is based not only on a rich archaeological record and texts that go back thousands of years, but also on a living tradition that is connected to the past. Conversely, India has much cultural diversity and a tangled history of interactions with neighbouring regions that make the story complex. The texts reveal to us the cosmological ideas that lay behind astronomical sites in the historical period and it is generally accepted that the same ideas also apply as far back as the Harappan era of the third millennium BC. In the historical period, astronomical observatories were part of temple complexes where the king was consecrated. Such consecration served to confirm the king as the foremost devotee of the chosen deity, who was taken to be the embodiment of time and the universe. For example, Udayagiri, located a few km from Vidisha in central India, is an astronomical site connected with the Classical age of the Gupta dynasty (320–500 AD). The imperial Guptas enlarged the site, an ancient hilly observatory going back at least to the 2nd century BC, at which observations were facilitated by the geographical features of the hill, into a sacred landscape to represent royal authority. Indian astronomy is characterised by the concept of ages of successively longer durations, which is itself an instance of the pervasive general idea of recursion, or repetition of patterns across space, scale and time. An example of this is the division of the ecliptic into 27 star segments ( nakshatras ), with which the moon is conjoined in its monthly circuit; each of these segments is further divided into 27 sub-segments ( upa-nakshatras ), and the successive divisions of the day into smaller measures of 30 units. -

The ’Sisu*, or as it is better known, the Maghakavya, after the name ©f Its author, is one1,of the master-pieces of Sanskrit literature. It has enjoyed a very high reputation as work of art for over eleven centuries and has been so popular with the scholars as to be ranked by them as the best Kavya. It is considered the supreme M.Sc., S-VYASA, Department of spiritual science, and is known in the Vedic literature as the ‘Science of the Sciences’, it illuminates the Molecular Biology Laboratory, soul’s progress on the path of Sanatana Dharma. This paper shows how the structure of Jyotisha Alex Hankey, S-VYASA, illustrates the Chaturvidha Purushardha, the four-fold aims or goals of life, Dharma – Artha – Kama – Prashanti Kutiram, Jigani, Bengaluru District, Karnataka, Moksha. It enables expert Jyotishis to evaluate a soul’s subtle energies, merits and demerits, and so assist India a native on the path to Moksha. The paper thus emphasizes how the structure of the Jyotisha Kundali offers deep insights into the nature and theory of Dharma. The Kundali indicates at each point in time the Alex Hankey nature of active Prarabda Karma dominating a person’s life. Correctly used, Jyotisha implements the Ph.D., Department of Molecular principle, “Heyam Dukham Anagatam”, Avert the Danger Yet to Come.
