Miljøhensyn i skog.

  • The Influence of the Type of Storage on Pest Infestation of Stored Grain in the Czech Republic
The influence of the type of storage on pest infestation of stored grain in the Czech Republic V. Stejskal1, J. Hubert1, Z. Kučerová1, Z. Munzbergová2, 3, J. Lukáš1, E. Žďárková1 1Research Institute of Crop Production, Prague-Ruzyně, Czech Republic 2Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic 3Botanical Institute, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Průhonice, Czech Republic ABSTRACT Stored-product pests cause high economic losses by feeding on stored grain and endanger the public health by contamina- tion of food by allergens. Therefore, the aim of this work was to explore whether the risk of infestation of stored grain by pests is different in various types of storage premises. We compared the level of infestation and the pest species compo- sition in the two main types of grain stores in Central Europe that includes horizontal flat-stores (HFS) and vertical silo- stores (elevators) (VSS). A total of 147 grain stores located in Bohemia, Czech Republic was inspected. We found that both types of stores were infested with arthropods of three main taxonomic groups: mites (25 species, 120 000 individu- als), psocids (8 species, 5 600 individuals) and beetles (23 species, 4 500 individuals). We found that VSS and HFS differ in species composition of mites, psocids and beetles. However, the primary grain pests (i.e. Lepidoglyphus destructor, Acarus siro, Tyrophagus putrescentiae, Lachesilla pedicularia, Sitophilus oryzae, Rhyzopertha dominica, Oryzaephilus surinamensis and Cryptolestes ferrugineus) occurred in both types of stores. The only exception was higher frequency and abundance of two serious beetle-pests (Tribolium castaneum, Sitophilus granarius) in HFS than in VSS.

China * Correspondence to: [email protected] Abstract—Three wood-decaying fungi, Ceriporiopsis lagerheimii, Sebipora aquosa, and Tyromyces xuchilensis, are newly recorded in China. The identifications were based on morphological and molecular evidence. The phylogenetic tree inferred from ITS+nLSU sequences of 49 species of Polyporales nests C. lagerheimii within the phlebioid clade, S. aquosa within the gelatoporia clade, and T. xuchilensis within the residual polyporoid clade. The three species are described and illustrated based on Chinese material. Key words—Basidiomycota, polypore, taxonomy, white rot fungus Introduction Wood-decaying fungi play a key role in recycling nutrients of forest ecosystems by decomposing cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin of the plant cell walls (Floudas et al. 2015). Polyporales, a large order in Basidiomycota, includes many important genera of wood-decaying fungi. Recent molecular studies employing multi-gene datasets have helped to provide a phylogenetic overview of Polyporales, in which thirty-four valid families are now recognized (Binder et al. 2013). The diversity of wood-decaying fungi is very high in China because of the large landscape ranging from boreal to tropical zones. More than 1200 species of wood-decaying fungi have been found in China (Dai 2011, 2012), and some a Chang-lin Zhao and Shi-liang Liu contributed equally to this work and share first-author status 30 ..

  • Species Composition of Coleoptera Families Associated with Live and Dead Wood in a Large Norway Spruce Plantation in Denmark
Species composition of Coleoptera families associated with live and dead wood in a large Norway spruce plantation in Denmark Jens Reddersen & Thomas Secher Jensen Reddersen, J. & T.S. Jensen: Species composition of Coleoptera familites as sociated with live og dead wood in a large Norway spruce plantation in Den mark. Ent. Meddr. 71: 115-128: Copenhagen, Denmark, 2003. ISSN 0013-8851. For decades, the idea of various biotope types hosting unique plant and ani mal species associations and thus forming well-delimited species communities have continuously been debated. At any rate, it remains a practical empirical working concept in intensively exploited mosaic landscapes like in Denmark where biotope fragments are distinctly separated by man-made borders. In Denmark, conifer plantations dominated by Norway spruce, Picea abies L. con stitute such a well-delimited biotope type - at the same time widely distributed and with an insect fauna only poorly known. In two years, 1980-81, in Gludsted Plantation, Central Jutland, the arthro pod fauna was studied in six stands of mature well-tended Norway spruce on poor sandy acidic soils. A variety of sampling methods was employed with a minimum of four white bucket traps and two tray traps on the ground in each stand. In both years in some stands, ground emergence traps were set up as well as vertical series of white buckets in canopies at mean levels 6.6, 10.6 and 13.2 m. Additional sampling comprised vertical sticky trap series in canopies, sweep net sampling in low branches and winter bark search. Ground beetles, sawflies and the aphid-aphidophagous fauna were analysed in previous papers.

  • Additions, Deletions and Corrections to the Staphylinidae in the Irish Coleoptera Annotated List, with a Revised Check-List of Irish Species
Bulletin of the Irish Biogeographical Society Number 41 (2017) ADDITIONS, DELETIONS AND CORRECTIONS TO THE STAPHYLINIDAE IN THE IRISH COLEOPTERA ANNOTATED LIST, WITH A REVISED CHECK-LIST OF IRISH SPECIES Jervis A. Good1 and Roy Anderson2 1Glinny, Riverstick, Co. Cork, Republic of Ireland. e-mail: <[email protected]> 21 Belvoirview Park, Belfast BT8 7BL, Northern Ireland. e-mail: <[email protected]> Abstract Since the 1997 Irish Coleoptera – a revised and annotated list, 59 species of Staphylinidae have been added to the Irish list, 11 species confirmed, a number have been deleted or require to be deleted, and the status of some species and names require correction. Notes are provided on the deletion, correction or status of 63 species, and a revised check-list of 710 species is provided with a generic index. Species listed, or not listed, as Irish in the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera (2nd edition), in comparison with this list, are discussed. The Irish status of Gabrius sexualis Smetana, 1954 is questioned, although it is retained on the list awaiting further investgation. Key words: Staphylinidae, check-list, Irish Coleoptera, Gabrius sexualis. Introduction The Staphylinidae (rove-beetles) comprise the largest family of beetles in Ireland (with 621 species originally recorded by Anderson, Nash and O’Connor (1997)) and in the world (with 55,440 species cited by Grebennikov and Newton (2009)). Since the publication in 1997 of Irish Coleoptera - a revised and annotated list by Anderson, Nash and O’Connor, there have been a large number of additions (59 species), confirmation of the presence of several species based on doubtful old records, a number of deletions and corrections, and significant nomenclatural and taxonomic changes to the list of Irish Staphylinidae.

(2008): Molecular phylogeny and taxonomic position of Trametes cervina and description of a new genus Trametopsis. – Czech Mycol. 60(1): 1–11. Trametes cervina (Schwein.) Bres. differs from other species of the genus by remarkable morpho- logical characters (shape of pores, hyphal system). Moreover, an earlier published comparison of the DNA sequences within the genus revealed considerable differences between this species and the re- maining European members of the genus Trametes. These results were now confirmed using se- quences of nuclear LSU and mitochondrial SSU regions of ribosomal DNA. The most related species of Trametes cervina are Ceriporiopsis aneirina and C. resinascens. According to these facts, the new genus Trametopsis Tomšovský is described and the new combination Trametopsis cervina (Schwein.) Tomšovský is proposed. • Two New Ernobius Species from Cyprus (Coleoptera: Bostrichoidea: Ptinidae)
Studies and Reports Taxonomical Series 9 (2): 583-590, 2013 Two new Ernobius species from Cyprus (Coleoptera: Bostrichoidea: Ptinidae) Petr ZAHRADNÍK Department of Forest Protection and Entomology, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences, Kamýcká 1176, CZ-165 21, Prague 6 - Suchdol, Czech Republic e-mail: [email protected] Taxonomy, new species, Coleoptera, Ptinidae, Ernobius, Cyprus, Palaearctic Region Abstract. Ptinidae are represented by 55 species in Cyprus, from which are four Ernobius species - Ernobius cupressi Chobaut, 1899, E. madoni Pic, 1930 (endemic to Cyprus), E. oertzeni Schilsky, 1900 and E. pini pini (Sturm, 1837). Two new species from genus Ernobius C. G. Thomson, 1859 are described here: E. benedikti sp. nov. and E. cyprogenius sp. nov. INTRODUCTION The Ptinid fauna of Cyprus has still insufficiently been explored. Lists of Ptinidae of Cyprus contain total of 55 species (Borowski 2007; Zahradník 2007), but findings of other Mediterranean species are more than probable (including findings of species new to science). The biggest part of Ptinidae of Cyprus constitutes subfamily Ptininae (21 species), followed by subfamilies Xyletininae (11 species), Anobiinae (7 species), Dorcatominae (6 species), Ernobiinae (5 species), Gibbinae and Dryophilinae (both 2 species) and Eucradinae (1 species). Only one endemic species is known from Cyprus - Ernobius madoni Pic, 1930. Genus Ernobius Thomson, 1859 has been represented in the Holarctic Region by about 80 species divided into 6 species groups (Johnson 1975). A few species were introduced into other regions, too. In the Palaearctic Region, it is represented by 50 species. There are 4 species know from Cyprus, 3 species are also known from Greece and Turkey.

The last two localities were at the mount Plechý in the Šumava National Park with mountain (climax) Norway spruce forests. The cutted plots of forest on Austrian part of the mountain and unattached plots without management (fade forests with young seedelings) were compared. Material was collected with pitfall traps and soil quadrats sampling. The material was determined and species were classified into groups after the sensitivity to human impact (species living in habitats without human impact, species living in human made forest and ubiquitous species living in heavy disturbed habitats (BOHÁČ 1999, BOHÁČ et JAHNOVÁ 2015). Ecological analysis of communities was made (BOHÁČ 1999). Statistical analysis was made on the base of cluster analysis and Shannon-Wiener index and index of equitability were calculated. Together 272 species and 7558 specimen of model groups (Carabidae, Stahylinidae, Silphidae and Geotrupidae) was found on studied localities. Communities of of beetles differ strongly in oak forests and forest steppe in lowland oak forests. The xerothermis species presents on forests steppe and forest species in oak forests.
