A must-see.” - Natan Sharansky, Author, Human Rights Activist “…an intriguing documentary that shows the world the special country Israel is…it shows how Israel has used its success for the benefit of the world, something we as Jews are particularly proud of.” - Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi, United Hebrew Congregation of the Commonwealth “This is just a remarkable, remarkable film. And it does so much to project not only positively but visibly in ways that… make you cry, make you reach out, make you feel… it’s absolutely amazing.” - Professor Alan Dershowitz, Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law, Harvard Law School “Showing this film is one of the TEN WAYS to ‘really help Israel’... It’s the best movie about Israel made in a long time. It tells the story of today’s Israel in a way that will excite American youth and people around the world.” - Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, Founder, The Israel Project TESTIMONIALS “This movie is arguably the best ever produced showcasing what it is that makes Israel unique in history. It eloquently identifies the elements that have allowed the creation of modern Israel as the world center of technology development, driven by its signature cultural imperative of Tikun Olam - Repair the World. Take 40 minutes and prepare yourself to be awed and inspired!” - Les Lawrence , Lawrence Foods “I have just watched Israel Inside and had an emotional experience I was not expecting. I am a proud Jew and Israeli and feel great pride in the good news that frequently comes out of Israel and the Jewish world. But this movie has inflated my pride like nothing else and so I submit my note of thanks. I have often felt that Israel needs a PR firm to help with its image to the outside world and to tell the real story of this country and its people. Nothing could be better for that, than Israel Inside. “ - David, Jewish Foundation of Manitoba “Last night we screened the 38 min. version of “Israel Inside” and it was a big, big hit! People LOVED IT! No surprise since it’s a Jewish soul- lifting master piece. I think we had over 350 people. Many bought the film and some mentioned that they had tears in their eyes. - Bobbie Ghitis, Israel Public Action Committee, Congregation Rodfei Sholom 4 www.jerusalemonlineu.com ISRAEL INSIDE: THE CaMP EXPERIENCE BUILDING CHARACTER WHILE BUILDING CONNECTION Israel Inside: The Camp Experience is a six-part, film-based Israel education curriculum for Jewish campers and counselors that expands on our groundbreaking film Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference. The program creates fun and practical activities using the “actualizers” and Jewish values presented in the film.

  • 2020 Impact Report
JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER PHILADELPHIA 2020 Impact Report I am proud to present you with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s 2020 Impact Report, a detailed account of the support we provide to our communities in light of the extraordinary challenges we are facing, from the COVID-related issues of food insecurity, isolation, financial hardships, mental health and wellness, the escalation of anti-Semitism, and the racial inequities throughout our region. It covers an update about our current work, as well as the Annual Report of the previous fiscal year, September 1, 2018 - August 31, 2019. For more than 119 years, the Jewish Federation has provided an infrastructure of support for Jewish people and organizations in need. Our role as the leading safety net funder of Jewish services in the Greater Philadelphia area, and among the top funders of Greater Philadelphia philanthropic organizations serving all members of our community, has enabled us to mobilize quickly in response to the COVID-19 crisis. So far this year, we have raised and leveraged $2.1 million for emergency relief efforts in addition to the nearly $50 million resourced into our community through our grant making processes, rent subsidies, and partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Day Schools. Given the unique needs of today, Jewish Community Fund dollars are being released to our partner agencies as general operating grants in lieu of program grants to allow flexibility in planning and to support each agency’s greatest demands. At the start of the pandemic in mid-March, our Emergency Response Committee immediately activated.

  • Jewish Federation FY21 Campaign Allocations and Endowment Highlight
Philanthropic Investments in Our Communities Annual Campaign Allocations for the 2020 - 2021 Fiscal Year and Endowment Fund Highlights jewishphilly.org Our Philanthropic Community The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is the largest provider of grants to Jewish organizations in Greater Philadelphia, among the top funders of Greater Philadelphia philanthropic organizations, and is a primary resource for funds and other assistance for many organizations. We help our Jewish communities flourish by providing an infrastructure of support for Jewish people and organizations in need. One way that many members of our community engage with their Judaism, their heritage, and the Jewish community is by making a gift each year to the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign, the core of which is the unrestricted Jewish Community Fund. Through collective giving, we amplify our grant-making ability and help to transform our communities in a way that is far greater than any single donation. The Jewish Federation is privileged that thousands of people in our Jewish communities entrust our leaders and volunteers to distribute these dollars to meet the most urgent needs locally, in Israel and around the world based on our funding priorities of serving vulnerable populations, shaping our Jewish future, and connecting with Israel. Given the extraordinary circumstances of this year, as the Jewish community’s convener, the Jewish Federation quickly mobilized to respond to the urgent needs created by the pandemic. We worked alongside our Jewish agencies, non-profit organizations and synagogues to speak with one voice to help those in need, raised funds for emergency relief grants, and focused on building and strengthening our community — even in a virtual environment.
