Shanghai Centre has been busy striving to bring you a better living experience. Many new and exciting things are happening that I would like to share with you. FIORI has renovated their nail salon to include a self-tanning service. Getting a nice tan is no longer limited to summer. Renaud air is now located in the complex and carries one of the most popular air purifier brands, Blue air. Filter changes have never been easier. Brioche Dorée has brought to Shanghai Centre the taste of original French baking. You can either pick up your breakfast quickly at their kiosk located at the Plaza or you can visit their 2F shop to unwind with afternoon tea. Why not try something special like bubble tea at TPLUS located at the Plaza. Originating from Taiwan, bubble teas have become popular the world over. Now there is even more great shopping at Shanghai Centre. LIULI gallery has a beautiful selection of handcrafted crystal glass artwork and the unique fashions of SHANGHAI TANG are now available in the lobby of The Portman Ritz-Carlton. In the next few months, we look forward to a few more fabulous additions to the complex including a Hawaiian and a Vietnamese restaurant as well as two high-end fashion houses. Stay tuned! This paper, hence, looked, from a historical perspective, how the development of tall buildings in Chicago, Hong Kong and Singapore have evolved to become what we see today. How does the tall building development history of a city help forge the people’s view in terms of living in skyscrapers? Would such help provide explanations and hints as to the future development of skyscrapers in the other cities like Shanghai?
