The Role of the Community Advisory Group in Addressing Asbestos Issues in Libby, Montana Director: Steve Schwarze5i In November of 1999, regional media exposed the extent of tremolite asbestos contamination and resultant disease in Libby, Montana. A century of vermiculite mining operations created a multitude of exposure pathways to asbestos in residential and public spaces around the Libby community that resulted in one of the worst public health and environmental disasters in United States history. Upon the EPA’s arrival in Libby to assess the extent of the contamination, the agency facilitated the development of a Community Advisory Group (CAG). For four years, the CAG has been the main public forum for addressing issues related to asbestos contamination. This study addresses elements of the community’s response to this disaster from the perspective of the CAG. Research methods included participant observation at twelve monthly CAG meetings and twenty-five interviews with CAG members, an EPA representative, the group’s facilitator, and a local social worker. My attendance at meetings coupled with insight from the interviewees revealed numerous challenges facing the group in its efforts to solve asbestos-related problems. Challenges internal to the community resulted from initial differences in perception of the disaster, the presence and complexity of emotional expression at the CAG, and difficulties associated with prioritization of issues. Challenges external to the community include: the unprecedented nature of the EPA’s cleanup of contaminated areas in the community, the absence of a federal program or funding source to adequately address health care needs, mid Libby’s precedent setting status within the national discussion of asbestos exposure, cleanup, and victims’ compensation. My research suggests that the internal challenges faced by the Libby CAG are not unique, but similar to the struggles other communities experience vdien faced with a slow motion technological disaster. Moreover, the study supports the notion that a community’s response to contamination is determined not only by the physical nature of the contaminant, but also by the specific social infrastructure that has developed in the community. In order to better face the challenges of this disaster, the Libby CAG and community must more effectively generate active leadership, widespread public participation, and a collective vision for the future. 11 Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Despite this, Great Britain later denied this right to the New England Colonies. Over the last two centuries many battles have been fought to make freedom of speech an inalienable right to be shared by all. A good portion of these battles have been fought in courtrooms. Judge and Supreme Court justices have dealt with issues ranging from what is a public figure to what is indecent speech. Many of these issues are not found in the original text of the Constitution. This has forced the judges to devise tests to determine certain standards and to make discretionary choices. Today’s public officials are dealing with issues that have never been dealt with before, such as Internet speech and cyberspace libel.

MID 2016 On March 24th, the music video for Ocean Eyes was released on Youtube. Her second single Six Feet Under LATE 2016 was released in June. The song Bellyache was released on February 24th, followed by the music video in March. A few days later, Bored was released as part of the MID 2017 soundtrack for Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. In the summer, Eilish released Watch and COPYCAT. Along with the announcement for her debut EP, Don’t Smile at Me. Releasing new singles each Friday in July such as idontwannabeyouanymore and My Boy. LATE 2017 The Don’t Smile at Me EP was released on August 11th. Later, Eilish collaborated with American rapper Vince Staples for a remix of Watch titled &Burn. In September, Apple Music named Eilish an Up Next EARLY 2018 artist due to her albums’ commercial success. In February, Eilish embarked on the WHERE’S MY MIND Tour, which concluded in April. Also in April, she collaborated with American singer Khalid for the single Lovely. The song was part of the soundtrack for the second season of Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

If you don't live near a pond, you can go to a public ice rink with your friends and family. If you do have a pond, an activity is hockey. You just need a goal which you can make out of PVC pipes from a hardware store. This is fun with friends and family, too. Snow-related activities are for you if you don’t want to spend money. You could invite your friends over and do these activities.

The data were collected by listening to 13 songs by Billie Eilish and reading the lyrics of the songs. There were 159 Slang Words, 21 Slang Coinage, 1 Slang of Borrowing, 1 Slang of Compounding, 102 Slang of Blending, 30 Slang of Clipping, 4 Slang of Derivation.

    NIELSEN MUSIC MID-YEAR REPORT U.S. 2019 1 INTRODUCTION Welcome to the 2019 Nielsen Music Mid-Year Report, which provides an exclusive glimpse at the music industry’s leading trends, data and insights from the past six months. The first half of 2019 saw a six-month record of over 507 billion on-demand streams, an exciting new milestone led by singles and albums by Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Khalid, BTS, Lil Nas X and Bad Bunny that span a wide array of genres, moods and even languages. LPs continue to show strength and lend resilience to physical albums, as independent retail events like Record Store Day continue to bring music fans in droves. This year’s celebration led to the highest non-holiday sales total at independent retail since 2005, and extended vinyl’s hot streak as the format increases 19% year-to-date. All data cited in this story is compiled by Nielsen Music. In this report, Nielsen is using a 24-week period for this year, running from Jan. 4 through June 20; while last year’s corresponding period ran THE FIRST HALF from Dec. 29, 2017, through June 14, 2018. Also, due to the fact that at mid-year 2018 Nielsen adapted different weighting for album OF 2019 SAW A consumption units for paid-audio streams (1,250 streams per unit), ad-supported streams and video streams (3,750 streams per unit), SIX-MONTH last year’s album consumption unit numbers were updated to reflect the current ratios for this story, in order to present an RECORD OF OVER apples-to-apples comparison.
