Winter is coming too fast. Snow has already been falling often, and it's not even December! Here are some things you can do while waiting for December to come around. This includes snowboarding, hockey or ice skating, and other snow-related activities.
First, you can go snowboarding about anywhere there's snow and a hill. If you want a specific place to go, Little Switz in Slinger is a great location. There are many hills to ride ranging from an easy difficulty to a harder difficulty. There are rails, jumps, and much more, so head down to Little Switz, rent a board and start riding.
Also, there’s hockey or ice skating if the ice on a lake is 4 to 6 inches thick. Do not skate or walk on ice that is three inches thick or less. This can be unsafe, and you could get seriously injured. If you don't live near a pond, you can go to a public ice rink with your friends and family. If you do have a pond, an activity is hockey. You just need a goal which you can make out of PVC pipes from a hardware store. This is fun with friends and family, too.
Snow-related activities are for you if you don’t want to spend money. You could invite your friends over and do these activities. One thing that you can do is make a fort or a wall. If you make two, you can have a two-team snowball fight. The best tactic to making a snow fort is rolling giant snowballs by making a small one in your hands first, but then rolling it in snow. Make a few of these, line them up, and there you go! You have a snow wall for a snow fight. These are some of the things you can do in the early snow that Wisconsin’s got.

If you like animals and don't like seeing them be hurt, then this article is just for you! I have done some research and found out that the U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed a bill to make animal cruelty a federal crime. If you don't know what unanimously means, here is a brief description. It means everyone agrees, so all the congressmen voted for this law.
According to an article in the USA Today, “the law would make it a federal crime for ‘any person to intentionally engage’ in animal cruelty, including burning, drowning, suffocating, impaling or otherwise injuring ‘non-human mammals, birds, reptiles or amphibians.’”
After this new law proposal passed in the House of Representatives, it went to the next level of government, the Senate. Once again, the bill passed unanimously. Soon, this bill will reach the desk of the President. The president will have to sign this bill for Animal Cruelty to officially become a Federal Crime, which he is expected to do when the bill arrives at his desk.
As of right now, animal cruelty has been enforced at the state level. This means, depending upon what state you live in, there are different laws and different levels of enforcement. By making this a federal law, every state will have the same laws to follow.
It should go without saying that all of us should treat animals kindly, and make sure to report any animal cruelty you see to the proper authorities.

Hunting: There are lots of places all over the forest that are open to the public, with the exception of a very few areas around developed features such as parks. Within the forests live a variety of animals such as white-tailed deer, black bears, wild turkey, roughed grouse, waterfowl, and other small game. Desired game species can be found in abundance throughout the property and ideal hunting opportunities abound. You can hunt for different game throughout the year. For instance, deer hunting, specifically gun, is around Thanksgiving.
Fishing: Whether you enjoy fishing inland lakes for panfish, fly fishing on a bubbling river, or heading out to deeper waters for Great Lakes fishing, Wisconsin has all of these opportunities. Memories that last a lifetime start with a fishing rod. Available species range from warm water species such as panfish and muskellunge to coldwater species such as trout and salmon. Don’t forget there are seasons for specific fish. Also, different bodies of water have different regulations, so make sure you are only keeping fish that are allowed in different lakes or rivers.
Extras: Ninety-five percent of Wisconsin residents participate in outdoor recreation and nearly 2/3 of us find our fun on public lands. There are six million acres that belong to all of us and are managed by federal, state, and local governments. So, get outside and take advantage of the Wisconsin wilderness.

R.A.G.E., Fighting for a Chance By: Adeline B. and Alana R.
This article is all about the Richfield U12 fastpitch softball team! During the summer of 2019, the Richfield Rage players were in a slump. It wasn’t good. It all took place at the Port Washington Pirate’s game.
When Rage was head to head, in a tie for most of the game, it came down to the last inning. The Pirates were hitting, getting on base, and the Rage team was getting tired. The Pirates took the lead, and soon the game was coming to an end. Richfield R.A.G.E. lost, but in the end, it made them work harder and harder every single practice and scrimmage they had.
Before they knew it, the Mayville Tournament had crept upon them. This had been the moment they were waiting for. This tournament was a chance at redemption. Of course, they were nervous, but they could not wait to have a second chance at winning.
The first game approached. They were tied for some of the game. Then, they got run after run and were not ready to give up. It was a high scoring game, with a final score of 12 to 11, Richfield on top. It was hot outside, but that didn’t stop the Rage team from celebrating. Unfortunately, the Rage didn’t win the second game of the tournament, so they weren’t champions at Mayville.

The World Series for Major League Baseball was filled with great games and a ton of drama. It took the full seven games to determine who was the best baseball team for the 2019 season. The series was between the Houston Astros in the American League and the Washington Nationals in the National League.
After the Houston Astros won the ALCS in walk of fashion against the New York Yankees they had high spirits about the MLB World Series with their leaders Gorege Springer, Jose Altuve, Micheal Brantly, Carlos Correa, and Alex Bregman. Also, they had star pitchers like Justin Verlander, and Gerrit Cole.
Although, who can forget about the Washington Nationals who swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS with their star players in Trea Turner, Anthony Rendon, Juan Soto, and Ryan Zimmerman. Also, they had star pitchers Max Scherzer, and Stephen Strasburg.
In the first game, the Astros took a two to nothing lead on a Yuli Gurriel double in the first. The Nationals came back, scoring the next five runs to take a 5 to 2 lead. Then in the 7th inning George Springer hit a solo shot to get ahead 5 to 3 down. Then in the next inning, George Springer hit a double to drive in another run now down 5 to 4, but the Nationals held this lead. Now leading the series 1 to 0 the Nationals were not going to stop. The Nationals pounded the Astros and won game two with a score of 12 to 3. Then after the one day break, the Astros came ready to fight. The Astros won game three 4 to 1. The Astros dominated in game 4. Alex Bregman hit a Grand Slam to lead the game 8 to 1. Now the series is tied going into game 5. The Astros won again 7 to 1. So far, every road team won each game. This trend continued.
In game 7, the Astros took a 2 to 1 lead. In the critical seventh inning, Howie Kendrick hit a 2 run home run to give the Nationals a 3 to 2 lead. The Nationals added three more runs and ended up winning 6 to 2. That would lead them to their first World Series ever. World Series Review, Home Page

Why Culver’s is the Best Fast Food By: Nolan Dietrich

Here are three reasons why Culver’s is one of the greatest fast-food restaurants. The first reason is their butter burgers aren’t like a normal burger, but they’re glazed with butter on the bottom of the bun. Some of the menu options have a midwest style from Culver’s originating in Wisconsin. The midwest region is not recognized sometimes. Most people don’t say, “Oh I’m going to Wisconsin.” No, they say, “ I'm going to Florida,” which is on the east coast. That's why Culver's butter burgers are good. They highlight the flavor of the Midwest.
The second reason is the cheese curds are very good. Most fast-food restaurants do not offer cheese curds. They are normal cheese curds, but you get the cheese curds deep-fried. One time when I was going up north, we stopped at Culver’s and I ordered a 4 piece chicken tender with fries and a large drink. I dumped out my fries on a napkin and I found a cheese curd! I felt so lucky because nobody got one.
My third reason for why Culver’s is great is the custard! They have a flavor of the day, which is the best thing about Culver’s. It is one of a kind because no other fast food restaurant does it. It is basically custard, but it has a lot of different flavors instead of the regulars like vanilla or chocolate. Some of my personal favorite flavors of the day are Turtle, Chocolate Oreo Volcano, Caramel Fudge Cookie Dough, and Snicker Swirl. Some bad flavors are Butter Pecan or Pretzel Crunch. I suggest that you go to Culver’s and try it out for yourself!

Creeper, aw man! You know, Minecraft is a pretty popular game right now. You can play it everywhere and anywhere including Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, PC, MAC, IOS, and Android. The game itself is a little over 10 years old. The basics of the game involve you building anything you can imagine. Most of the building blocks are cube shaped.
The ways to play are endless. You can play survival mode, which a dangerous zone full of monsters and animals alike with an ending that is surely satisfying. You can play creative mode. This is an open world mode with free rein over everything, where anything is possible.
On another note, using Minecraft in school has mixed opinions. In parts of the world, Minecraft is shunned upon, and despised, while in other parts of the world, like Sweden, the birthplace of Minecraft, it is welcomed with open arms, and used as a teaching device. It can teach kids many lessons. The software titled “MinecraftEDU Edition” is a game-based learning platform that offers educators a transformative way to engage students using Minecraft, and ignite their passion for learning. Some schools in America have begun using Minecraft in schools.
Minecraft can be used to both educate and entertain. It is quite easy to fit into the curriculum. Why not opt for it? With the changing time, shouldn’t we get with them also? This is why we should have a Minecraft school unit.

Billie Eilish is a very popular music artist who is known for her amazing songs. Two of her albums are WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and DON’T SMILE AT ME. These two albums are her most popular. WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is the most recent of the two. The album contains two of her most popular songs- Bad Guy and Bury a Friend. Bury a Friend has more of a scary music video with her getting needles put through her back. Another song on that track is You Should See Me in a Crown. In this music video, she has spiders crawling across her face and out of her mouth. Despite the fact that her videos are very scary, many people enjoy watching her thrilling videos.
Some videos are even sad. When the Party’s Over, which is also one of her really popular songs, has a music video with her crying black tears which she just drank from a glass. The video takes place in a blank white area where she sits on a chair, behind a small desk with the black liquid on it. When they shot the video, they put tubes by the inner corners of her eyes to make it look like she was crying the black liquid.
Her older album of the two, DON'T SMILE AT ME, has two of the first songs she has ever written. Bellyache is one of them, and Ocean Eyes is the other. She wrote the song Ocean Eyes when she was barely a teenager. Two more popular songs on that album are COPYCAT and idontwannabeyouanymore.
There are many more popular songs that she has. Billie Eilish has become so popular that she has made songs with other famous music artists. She has a song with Khalid called Lovely. Her brother, Finneas O'Connell, helps Billie write her songs. Billie Eilish is currently only 17 years old. She will for sure continue to be successful and popular in the music business. Home Page

Bob Ross was born in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1942. He was helping his father’s carpentry business when he cut off part of his index finger. In almost every episode nobody noticed that missing part of his finger. Much time later he joined the Air Force in 1961 and ended his career as a Master Sergeant in 1981. When Bob Ross learned how to paint he was in a tavern in Alaska when he saw William Alexander’s show, he continued to watch him and became a very good painter.
On January 11, 1983 he aired his first episode called, “A Walk In The Woods.” The iconic Bob Ross hair was actually an accident he originally permed his hair to save money but later his hair became an afro, but that caused him to get the iconic afro. At the beginning of every show he would encourage people to paint with him but 90% of the viewers didn’t paint with Bob Ross, meaning only 10% of his viewers painted with him.
On his second season, fourth episode, he painted an entire painting colored grey for a color-blind man. He did this because people were saying, “a blind man could never paint!” Bob Ross proved them wrong. In his lifetime (52 years) he painted over 30,000 paintings. 1. Andy Warhol was born on August 6th, 1928. Later in life, he began to pursue his career as a Commercial Artist in New York City. He did that by going to college for his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1949. He died on February 22, 1987, he was only 58 years old. The picture to the side is an example of his “pop art”. It’s a picture of Marilyn Monroe.
2. Yayoi Kusama’s extensive use for polka dots is based on hallucinations she had as a child. An example of her polka dot style is to the left. She was born March 22, 1929, Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Kusama studied art briefly at Kyoto City Specialist School of Arts from 1948-49. She moved to NYC in 1957 but moved back to Japan in 1973. Kusama is still alive, this artist is 90 years old.
3. Yoshitomo Nara was born on December 5, 1959, at Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. He is known for his sculptures and paintings. The painting to the right is one of her more famous works. Nara has written seven books. Yoshitomo Nara went to school at Musashino Art University.
4. Rene Magritte was born on November 21, 1898, in Lessines, Belgium. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Belgium, from 1916-1918. He was a surrealist painter. Surrealist means things that look realistic, but could be reversed, like the silhouette painting shown. Magritte died on August 15, 1967, in Brussels, Belgium. He was 69 years old when he died.
5. Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyoacan, Mexico. She made self-portraits about identity, the human body, and death. She suffered from polio when she was a child. In 1925 she got into a bus accident. She died at age 47 on July 13, 1954. The Xbox One console is a gaming console that I highly suggest to you. You can connect this console to TV or computer with an HDMI cord.
You can play many popular games on the Xbox One. They have some free games in the app store. They even have older games like Pacman and Dig Dug. You can get the Xbox One console for around $249.
If you buy the Xbox One make sure you buy a kinects or a microphone so you can talk to friends on there, to team up in certain games. If you do buy a kinects for the Xbox One you can also play just dance, just dance is a game that highly suggests a kinects. A kinects is basically a camera with a microphone in it for your tv. The Xbox One console has had multiple consoles before it, like the Xbox 360. They also have an even newer and more advanced console called the Xbox One S.
You can even get things that aren't video games on the Xbox, like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and more. The Xbox One can be used as a Blu-Ray player, as long as you download the Blu-Ray app.
On the Xbox One you can find your friends accounts and talk to them or play games with them, so long as they have an Xbox and a Microsoft account..
